Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

My dad's village got electricity so people could watch the Queen's coronation on telly. Mains sewers had to wait 'til 1964

All my mates in N.Yorks have real fires. Seriously, there worth the hassle

So it's not just in Britain that doctor's waiting rooms have been specifically designed to suck the life out of you.....??:confused::confused:
Earned. This.

Incredible isn't it? Young 'uns now won't believe you! In my late teens, I spent the bitterly cold 78/79 winter in a house in central Sheffield with no hot running water, a coal fire, and a darn great hole in the roof! :D The pipes froze and we had to melt snow at one point! I'd happily go back to the fire though, always plenty of wood roundabouts

That looks delicious David, nice pic :)

At least you didn't live in a rolled up newspaper!

Called a plumber last week myself. And my wife told me recently the ceiling in our garage is wet. May need to fix roof.

Yikes! In my place I posted about before, I remember waking up with snow on my face! :D

I can add a notch to my belt with the reamer on my Vic Spartan I bought Saturday.

Go and wash your mouth out Vincent! You can do that with your Lambsfoot!

I'm waiting for someone to post the video link  ;)

Time for a gratuitous lambsfoot pic:

Pile side.

Very attractive Vince, we should have a Pile side day :D

I like the one with Raymond Burr. The ones made in the '60s were good too.

LOL! I had completely forgotten about that film! I'm going to have to seek it out and watch it again! :D I'm not sure about the 1960's ones but they sound like the sort of thing BBC2 would of screened on Saturday mornings.

LOL Jack! Your credentials as a hard Tike are cast iron! :D Sounds like you were squatting somewhere though....
I'm a tad *ahem* younger than yourself,:D but I also grew up in a house without central heating and a coal fire with back boiler for hot water. I'm 46 and you mention to folk literally not 10 years younger than me that you grew up in a house without double glazing and they look at you skew wift.
I remember getting into an argument with some over-educated 'youngster' in a pub in York. I'd been talking to my mates about when I worked on the fresh produce markets in London, doing 2-3 night-shifts a week between 11-15 years old. This stuck-up fool butted in and effectively called me a liar and started twitting on about social services, law about school attendence and other stuff that meant nothing in reality. Seriously, we've gone soft....
