Gun Picture Thread

I really love my HK P30L and it’s my concealed carry choice 99% of the time. I walked into a local shop and they had an HK45 marked 15% off. I couldn’t pass it up.

The issue with owning a 45 though, is it opened the door to own more 45s. I decided I wanted to get back into a 1911. So with some specific requirements, I set out looking for one. I ultimately found most of what I wanted in this 2024 - 45th anniversary Kimber 1911.

I’ve got some grips ordered for it thanks to Black Friday sales.

Nice acquisition. The HK45 is one of my favorites. 👍

That gun feels perfect in my hand. I do wish it had a decocker instead of a safety like the P30L has.
I prefer a manual safety over a decocker. Do you carry your HK with the hammer cocked or hammer down? If hammer down, then the first shot is a double action pull?

I don't carry the 45. I carry a P30L LEM. I used to carry a P30L DA/SA and the first trigger pull on that was a DA, which I didn't mind and liked for safety reasons. I do not like running a light trigger on my CC gun. The LEM allows for more of a single action weight but the take up makes up for it.

The USP 45 is too big for my hands, but I love my HK P30S. Great shooters, reliable, and about unbreakable.

A little range time this morning.

Shot the 45s first. 1911 ran like a sewing machine. HK shot 45 acp incredibly well. I have never shot a polymer 45. I was impressed.

Shot the HK P30L next and was reminded why this is my carry gun. Feels like an extension of my hand at this point. I love the P30L.
