Gun Picture Thread

I found this antique Gambler's poker kit at the Goodwill Outlet two weeks ago and was mind blown. It includes a very old deck of cards, bone dice, clay poker chips and a pistol. Yes that's correct a PISTOL! The little gun has maker's marks and the number 85 on it. I can't find any information on it but I was told it shoots .22 short. This is a once in a lifetime find and I had to share it! The goodwill outlet charges $1.59 per pound so I paid just over $4 for this thanks to the weight of the box.IMG_20220923_154424969_HDR_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20220923_232419292_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20220923_232427615_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20221012_214730693_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20221012_214737251_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20221012_214609925_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20221012_214720695_copy_1500x2000.jpgIMG_20221012_214559285_copy_1500x2000.jpg

Cool Find! Congratulations!

I've not seen a .22 Short cartridge for a goodly number of years. Not that I'd want to actually fire one in that thing.

Awesome setup.
Thanks! When I go to the backside of the ranch I often go a little heavier. This is my Dan Wesson Specialist in 10mm. I call it my belt rifle. Handy for the backside of the ranch where there are lions, tigers and bears, oh my!

I wondered if you went heavier during calving season and winter when snow pushed predators down

Californicated AR in 5.56. Just born yesterday.
A friend helped me put together the build list and worked with me to assemble it. Reasonably vanilla choices, but designed to be CA legal, light weight, and easily maneuverable. So new, it hasn't even been to the range yet. Been about 40 years since I've had a new gun. First time I've put one together.
Faxon Pencil Barrel 16"
Aero Precision upper, lower, hand guard, and carbine length buffer kit
Standard GI trigger - Brownells
Brownell bolt carrier group - nitrided.
Magpul MBUS sites.
Magpul fixed Mil spec stock. (CA req)
Strike Megafin grip (CA req),
10-round clip (CA req)

More having to do with where on the ranch then time of year. Sometimes fixing fence back there we'll haul a rifle too. Horseback only no way of getting a vehicle back there. Well a guy could walk I guess, but well..... not walking:
