Glock 18. Dream gun to shoot!

NH custom, considering selling several of my guns to purchase one of these.
I agree on the 18. I bet it is fun to shoot.
If you bought an NH would you carry it? I would not for fear of losing it if I had to use it. Evidence would get mysteriously destroyed.

Some of my favorites.........sadly most are gone as I'm thinning the herd.

God no. Night Hawk would be a range toy for sure. Just something fun to shoot.

There's a reason I carry a Glock. Parts are everywhere and if my tool had to be used I could get another easily.

PDP & Bull - always wanted to shoot both but never enough to buy one. Thanks, you saved me some money.

Of all the upper tier 1911 brands I've owned through the years the Night Hawk is the only one of them that I'd even consider spending that kinda coin on again if I were starting over.

Can you explain why, in your experience? I've handled Wilson (never shot) and I haven't been impressed with Staccato (I know this is not "high end" for 2011s).

I have 3 Wilson’s. The only Night Hawk 1911 I owned was one I stumbled across in 2019 for 1/3 of what it cost then. Around $5k. I knew my buddy at the time was looking for a gift for his dad and I knew this was in his price range so I passed it on. I had the NH in my possession for 2 days and couldn’t put it down. The tolerances in other words were like a high end custom knife. It just felt that much better in every way and so smooth.

When I turn 55 in 16 months I plan to put an order in for one. And I will definitely use and put this gun into carry rotation. It is going to be a gun that I’ll be shooting the most so no reason not to trust my life to it.

You should follow the YouTuber 1911syndicate I fast forward some of his stuff but for the most part, He does high end reviews of a lot of 1911 and 2011’s. NH ranks right up at the top for him also. That gives him street cred from me in that I trust his reviews. I think he said in a video he owns more than 50 very high end models too.

I'll start my reply with this ... Night Hawks are not magical and you sure don't have to spend anywhere near that amount for a quality pistol. Just my experience vs other high end semi custom 1911s like Les Baer, Wilson, Alchemy ... the Night Hawks stood out.

Unless you just have money to burn or you're shooting competitively and looking for what are in reality for most shooters ... very small improvements in accuracy, consistency, and trigger tuning, spending that kind of money on a pistol doesn't make a lot of sense.

That said ...

The Night Hawks are basically on the same level as some customs I've owned. Both of my Night Hawks out shot any other 1911s I've owned ... both in reliabilty and accuracy with the exception of a custom piece.

You can get some really good 1911s without spending that kind of money. I was only saying that for me personally, if I ever considered dropping that type of money on a 1911 again (and I won't ... see below) ... it would be Night Hawk or a custom.

After years of chasing "something better" and as much as I like shooting 1911s, if anyone really asked me now ... I'd buy a CZ or Glock pistol, a Beretta 1301 or Benelli M4, build a nice AR15, and still have money for a steak and a beer instead.

As they say ... "It's the Indian, not the arrow". There is nothing my Night Hawk can do that my Glock or CZ or ... "insert your favorite (within reason) here" ... can't.

This is one of the reason's that I got out of the 1911/2011 game. I had my CZ Shadow 2 at the range today and we all shot it. Everyone agreed that this gun shot 90% as well as the comped Night Hawk. It costs less than a grand. The NH owner wants a S2 now.

I’ve owned 3 different 1911s and all 3 had varying issues. Awesome triggers in the 1911s, but I carry a pistol for self defense and I want 100% reliability as my first criteria. I don’t want to have to file and fit parts, or try a hundred different types of ammo for my gun to run reliably.

I carried a 1911 and P220s many years ago, but with advancements with ammo I only carry something bigger than a 9mm if Im somewhere with big critters and that's usually a revolver if I can't have a long gun.

I carry my G21 pretty frequently and it’s a fat bitch haha! Only .45 I have in my stable. I do have some Underwood 255gr hard cast loads for when bumming around in the woods.
