My Savage mk2 project is finally complete.

Hopefully this .650 skinner guide series front sight I installed is tall enough.

It's going to be awhile before I can get out and do some testing with it though.
With the factory front sight it was shooting at least 12" high at 20yd, this one is 1/4" taller and hopefully tall enough to leave room for elevation adjustment.
That’s a good looking rifle. How’s the trigger? I’ve never got to work on a savage rimfire before.

This is a Mk2G, so a economized Walmart version without the accu-trigger.
It has a single stage trigger with minimal play, a fairly short travel, and probably about a 3.5lb pull.
It doesn't really have a wall or crisp distinct break, but overall I really don't have any problems with it.

I had a Williams peep on an old Marlin lever .22 many years ago. I remember it being very accurate.
I put William's peeps on everything I can, because scopes just aren't my thing.
Peeps are cheaper they're bomb proof and I don't have to worry about all that complicated parallax nonsense.

Sure I could probably shoot further with a scope, but I like shooting small objects which don't need to be more than 100yds away.

Most of my guns are irons. I have scopes on my bolt guns, because I shoot them out to 400 yards.

Man, it’s really nice to be honest. It’s a slim gun, but heavy. We are at the beach and I’ve been carrying it out to dinner every night wearing shorts. The holster makes all the difference in the world.
Glad you like it.
True, all steel does make it heavy, but with right holster and belt it is an easy carry.
Enjoy the beach time my friend.
