Gun Picture Thread

I shot one last year before buying my G47. In hind sight, I should have bought it instead but didn't.
At this point, I have not given in to arthritis pain in the hands so anything new will be either 10mm or 45. I would not mind another 357Sig either.
Some places have the Echelon for $469, which is a great price for that gun. My local gun shop also has $499 Glocks as well. MOS models would be $529.

A lot of places are price gouging because of what Glock is going through right now, especially the internet dealers. Look locally, you may find a better deal.
This is true. Actually these prices are marked down. Unfortunately the store is a chain, range store.

Now that Glock is changing, I am re-evaluating my own path forward. I like Glock well enough due to their simplicity/reliability and claim of the market (HUGE aftermarket). Glock will still be around and will probably be fine but time will tell about the reliability of the changes. Again, probably fine. I also have some so I can continue carrying them.

I think i'm gonna get back into the DA/SA game. I prefer a hammer fired gun to a striker. Looking at a Beretta PX4 Storm and a HK P30L. I had a few HKs a while back and I only went away from them because they had paddle mags. I really liked that, but I talked myself into staying consistent with button mag releases.

The P30L is sweet. My first with the "LEM Light" trigger and I'm digging it. Kinda like a DA/SA but without the heavy first pull. Great ergos and accurate AF, of course.

I too tend to like the DA/SA but the LEM I owned originally was great. For those that like the consistency of a striker, you get that. For CC, it might even be “better” than the DA/SA because the hammer won’t snag on anything.

I just got my K-frame Smith, 48-7 "Classic" (*.22 WMR) back from the S&W Warranty Department, for the SECOND time... (*Fedex just brought it to my door)

A few months back, I sent it in because the barrel was clocked in the 11 o'clock position, and I had to back-out the rear sight, all the way to the left, just to get it to hit almost center at 15 yards. When it returned, supposedly "repaired" from the first visit, the rear sight was damaged, the frame was scratched (*just above the trigger), and the barrel still appeared clocked. So, back it went to S&W.

Anyhow, the current enclosed paperwork states that they addressed the barrel, replaced the rear sight, and refinished the frame and cylinder. To my eyes, the barrel still appears "clocked". When I get a chance, I'm going to leg-it-out, to about 35 yards, and see what happens.

Man, what has happened to Smith?

When I attended and graduated the Regional Police Academy, in '92, S&W was a "premier" brand and revolver manufacturer. Now, from personal experience...and from much of what I've seen/read on the internet...they appear to be slipping.

From just a position of "nostalgia", I sincerely HOPE that they get their sh!t together.

Back in the day, our old-school "FTO's" spoke of "The Psychological Stop".

While I mostly agree with this young man, I'm not sure that he's ever staired-down the "Lincoln Tunnel" that is the muzzle of a .45 ACP "1911"...
