Gun Picture Thread

I have to say. If I were buying a new revolver, I'd lean towards Ruger. I really like what they're putting out wheel gun wise.

I tend to agree. I've been pretty pleased with the couple Rugers I've purchased recently. They're not super refined, but they're good, rock solid reliable, and they are very easy to take apart, work on and improve with just a little effort.

And Colt is making some very nice revolvers again these days as well.

Man, I think I just made a "sock baby". 😱 ❤️ 😍

That’s thing’s gotta pack a wallop!
It does.

I started with the original Cyclops in .45-70 and it was a lot of fun.

Then, when the Thumper came out, in .50 AE, Bond Arms sent me the new barrel and I went for the ride.

I told Gordon that if he goes up to .50 BMG, he is on his own. Lol.

Here is a video of me shooting it.

I was at Bass Pro a few hours ago (work related of course ;)), they had a Gen5 G19 with a factory installed Holosun SCS for $975… guess I should of bought that and at the very least doubled my money.
That is about right. $600 for gun and that is about what I paid for my scs.

I put a little carbon on the 3" Python today.

50 rounds of Federal 158gr .38 Special +P SWHP (*the "St. Louis load" that eventually ended the infamous FBI Miami-Dade shootout) and 50 rounds of PMC 158gr full-house .357 Mag JSPs.

...just enough to piss-off a few of the shooters at the indoor range...

Let me be CLEAR...

From my very limited "drunken" memory...

The original 158gr .38 Special +P SWHP load, that was originally produced for the St. Louis Police Department back in the day, was offer solely by Winchester.

The similar load, that the FBI carried...known as the "FBI load"...was produced exclusively by Federal.

Surprisingly, Federal still offers it, in limited quantities, in their "white box" variety...

There's just something about the 3" Python. Heard through a source the other day that a Colt rep told him the 3" version is a top seller. How's the accuracy on yours? I've been very impressed with the accuracy of mine, but then that's true for all of my Colts.

The 3” version is just dead sexy.
Ive shot two of the new Pythons, both of the 6” variety. One blued, one stainless.
Both were very accurate. A real pleasure to shoot with .38;loads.

I just got my K-frame Smith, 48-7 "Classic" (*.22 WMR) back from the S&W Warranty Department, for the SECOND time... (*Fedex just brought it to my door)

A few months back, I sent it in because the barrel was clocked in the 11 o'clock position, and I had to back-out the rear sight, all the way to the left, just to get it to hit almost center at 15 yards. When it returned, supposedly "repaired" from the first visit, the rear sight was damaged, the frame was scratched (*just above the trigger), and the barrel still appeared clocked. So, back it went to S&W.

Anyhow, the current enclosed paperwork states that they addressed the barrel, replaced the rear sight, and refinished the frame and cylinder. To my eyes, the barrel still appears "clocked". When I get a chance, I'm going to leg-it-out, to about 35 yards, and see what happens.

Man, what has happened to Smith?

Beautiful gun, Alone Alone .

Far not as bad, but both my Performance Center S&W have clocking errors (also look at the rear sight, the L-frame worse than the N-frame). Not sure how that made it through QA.

Usable though and love them anyways.

Roland.

Wow - and those are Performance Center models that you would think would get a little extra attention before leaving the factory. This makes me want to go double-check mine!
