Gunman

Having worked as a street cop for thirteen years -- and having carried an ol' S&W revolver when the younger guys were opting for the high-tech firepower -- I can tell you that the outcome of most real-world conflicts is determined more by the man behind the gun than by the gun itself.

Just food for thought.

The OSS droped a crude single shot .45,Americans will not give up the .45,in France for the sole purpose of getting a better weapon.Russ, the M&P is a K frame.

Talking about the OSS, -- I have a book, hard cover --- "Kill or Get Killed" signed by Rex Applegate. Although it's not addressed to me, I still think it's neat to own.

I have my Dad`s issue book.I`ll stick with the 1911 for social purposes.I have others.I hate to admit it,but once I was sheepdipped into the ATF as a Federal agent.I didn`t do anything bad.My MOS was Lt. Weapons and Demo. They issued the S&W MOD. 65,a .357 with a heavy 3" bbl. When I left,I bought the weapon for $200.They forgot about the good scabbard.A good deal.I thought that I had to turn in the badge, darnit. If I could do it over,I would have "lost"it.I did keep the ID,but I have better ID now.

Ghost, I just checked, and left side says S&W, right side says 41 magnum, and inside of frame opposite crane says mod 58.

Now I gotta dig out my old Digests. I'm pretty sure they were listed there as M&P's.
Don't remember what they called the fixed sight 44 spls, (mod 24 or 26?) and 45 auto rims (mod 50?)in the 50's and 60's. What was the predecessor to the J, the 38/200 or 38s&w chambered w/ 4" and maybe 5" bbl. They called the snubby version the Terrier. Think NYPD may have issued 4" 38 s&w long long ago.

The classic M&P has always been the mod 10, 12, 13 or (6) series stainless, since before they went to the numbering instead of naming of models.

I will check it out, I've been wrong before.

I'm thinking, I'm thinking!

Scarry!!! to have a gun without liscence in Malaysia means GALLOWS!!! seems I have to go to another thread and just keep myself busy with some other issues - PLEASE DO NOT SHIP ME A GUN IF YOU WANT TO SEE ME ALIVE PEACEFULLY IN MALAYSIA.

Ghost: Per Roy Jinks, in "The History of Smith and Wesson", he refers to the gun I have as the "Model 58 .41 Magnum Military and Police". And it is of course an N frame.

And it finally came back to memory that the other J/PreJ frame f/s 38 S&W ala the snubby Terrier ( or maybe it was a 32 )with a 4" bbl. that I was thinking of was the Regulation Police.

Don't worry Mohd.

It should be the same in America not too long from now.

Don`t forget the K.38,or the K.22,both exellent weapons.I`m supposed to be PC now,and call them firearms. What a load, after I was punished for not calling them weapons in boot camp. This whole thing is making me unhappy.

Mohd,if you have a gun,the gallows is your own choice.Your destiny is not chosen by others.
