Guyot Pimp Idea....

Yep, finding this place was like finding my way back to the island of misfit toys :D

.

Marion, I received the bail today and just wanted to say thank you. :)
The design is simple yet very effective and retains the bottle securely.
I'm looking forward to trying it out over an open fire.

Cool, you got yours, now lets see some pics! With my natural talent for over-complication it may be another week or two before I see the one he's sending me :)

Should be getting mine sometime soon too, hope to get a chance to put it to some use and take pics as well :)

Cool, I'm looking forward to trying mine out when it gets here...I can't complain about how long it will take it to get here, hell I didn't even know I was going to get one till recently, and the time is all my own fault for making the sheath he's making for me a bit complicated. At least it's not as complicated as making a modular kydex sheath system for my guyot :)

I got mine yesterday, but there was no time to put it on the bottles...maybe tonight. Very nice work.

Mistwalker, these pics aren't the greatest but you get the idea :)

Did you slide the loop inside the stopper?

Both loops should be inside the stoppers.

Marion

Never mind, I think i get it...I really gotta go to sleep now.........

You probably got it, but for those reading, I will explain it, just to be safe...

The bail consists of one piece of wire rope, with each end connected back to the piece with a loop. These loops give the bail the convenience of being removable.

But, in order for the bail to be secure on the bottle in use, the loops have to be kept from moving away from each other allowing the bottle to slip out.

So, I place stoppers on the line, so that once the loops are inside the stoppers, the 'snare' if you will, is small enough to stay secure on the bottle.

I did not send instructions out with these bails, and I should have.
