I hate this knife shield with all my everything

first it was the dumb eye hole, now I'm struggling to conceptualize elephant ears held in a way that's physically impossible for the animal to do

Apparently the shield is nickel. I thought it was stainless and lasered the center hole punch in with guitar wire. You can see it because of the color difference between the two metals, and after refinishing the surface, because of the different hardnesses between the weld spot and the surrounding nickel there's some wake that is visible from certain angles.

I don't know why but this job is stressing me out and I hope I can make it look beautiful

Never forget…you’re the artist.
I restored a number of motorcycles, one ending up in a military museum.
The customer has wants, but you know, what can be done and what can’t. More importantly what should or shouldn’t be done to a project.
Sometimes honing in gives you tunnel vision. That one corner is making me crazy!!
Your work is beautiful. Trust, in the finished blend of the individual parts.
Wine helps.
