Happy 7th birthday to the CPK sub-forum :)

On the BladeForums back in ~2016/2017... I was often frequenting over in the Fiddleback Forge sub-forum and someone there started up a thread covering Chopper style knives.

A fellow member post up a picture of a CPK LC!

I think this was the photo that initially brought me over here to this sub-forum and started me down a CPK rabbit hole. 😀

Happy Birthday CPK! 🎂 🥳

I always wondered who this "Nathan the Machinist" was for the longest time...picturing some bespectacled guy in his Brooklyn basement with a small home workshop and putting out the occasional "enthusiast" driven piece for his admirers.

Then one day I decided to actually see why his name kept popping up as I roamed the site. And that was the end of that.

Interesting. I always pictured him pretty much like this:

And eventually I found out I wasn't too far off.

Happy anniversary Carothers crew, over the years I’ve come to respect Nathans decision to grow slow with a superior product while listening to his followers. Along the way I’ve gotten to know and trust his fine work and if by chance I break a tip or screw up an edge, I know that I’ll be taken care of.
Now to the regulars I want to thank each and everyone of you for contributing to my entertainment and helping me obtain my collection, it wouldn’t have been the same without you.
I want to give a special shout out to the lady that gets the product into our hands, THANK YOU Jo! The way you package up these is nothing short of perfection, zip tied to cardboard, wrapped in foam, sealed in plastic bag then shipped UPS. Jo you’re the best ( besides your husband) each with your own talents. Wishing you many more years of success.

I discovered CPK back in early 2018, when I'd see these CPK sales pop up in the fixed blade section of the exchange for 10 or 20 knives, except that when they appeared, they'd already be completely sold out. This made me very curious to find out more about this "Nathan the Machinist" guy and his knives. I bought my first CPK in the 7/6/2018 sale, an HDFK in natural micarta. Once I received the HDFK and started using it, I immediately realized that there was something very special about both the design and the execution, and I've been a dedicated CPK fan ever since. I used to be able to get in on the Friday sales, but so many more people have discovered CPK that now I'm generally out-of-luck in placing in these sales (I could only manage #82 in the Cruware BFK sale). Fortunately, there are a lot of great members in this forum that will help a guy out, like Casinostocks Casinostocks and Daverous Daverous (Thanks again guys!).

Anyway, Happy 7th Anniversary to the entire CPK crew, and to all the forum members that make this forum such a special place.

-Bob B.

Wow. I never saw this thread. It's been a great experience checking in and keeping up over the years. I first purchased a Nathan knife, (as we still call them) long before this forum existed. That first elk hunt with it was memorable. (the other men kept stealing it, after their edge became dull).

Thanks Nathan, Jo, mark and crew

It’s ten years now guys…not 7. 🤣🤣

Is that fuzzy math or too many IPA’s? This is the 7th Anniversary of the CPF Sub Forum 🍻
