There is SO much that can be said about this Special Man!
Most everyone here can attest to his passion, generosity, patients and knowledge.
He has helped SO many of us down this traditional road!
It has my Privilege and my Pleasure to get to know and call Charlie, My Good Friend!
I learned of Charlie from Clarence Risner, a dealer that I was buying Schatt and Morgan knives from back in 2005. That was when Charlie and Clarence became partners on the first Harness Jack produced in many years. Clarence had the "in" with Queen and Charlie had the passion for the Harness Jack, it was fortuitous the Bill Howard was the Master Cutler at Queen as Bill and Charlie have been a match made in Traditional Heaven. They both love the older working pocketknives and it has been OUR pleasure to be able to ride on their coattails for these past 14 years.
So much has been brought back to life in the Traditional knife world because of Charlie!
But after knowing him I can honestly say that Charlie is one of the Finest Human Beings that I have ever had the Privilege of knowing. He truly has a Beautiful Soul. I have seen him go out of his way countless times to include someone new and freely gives of himself and his passion until I wonder if he ever saves any for himself. I would be willing to bet that even Charlie doesn't know how many "first knives" he has given away to eager children with wide eyes! You have touched many lives My Friend!!

As most all of you know, Charlie gave us all a good scare this year, which certainly makes me appreciate him all the more. So here on Mr. Calm-Pon-Yuh's birthday lets share our stories and pocketknives that Charlie has had produced, there are so many different patterns!
Once again this year I will start at the beginning with HJ #1
I was fortunate this year to be able to acquire 3 more of the one of a kind HJ's that Charlie had made in 2005, so I'll shut up now and roll that beautiful bean footage!!

Happy Birthday My Friend!!
