When I first met Charlie, I had shown up late to the cross creek resort after driving in to Titusville from Brooklyn. And over the next few days, I got to chatting and getting to know Charlie and his wife Joanne and a few others, Lyle, and John, Donna, eventually Ron and Pam and Harry and Nancy. I recall commenting about those TC barlows and had no idea that people were paying through the nose for them. I had mentioned I was bidding on an anniversary soup bone which I found out was a very popular model. I remember pestering Christine in the GEC store about single blade 15s, and how the list on the cabinet had some listed but it didn't mean they had any in there actually due to the accounting. On the last day right before packing up for the picnic, and hearing no more 15s, I walked out with my head down. Here comes Charlie, who sells me this bad boy, which would be the first in my collection of 15 barlows, many would come later from a similar source.
and eventually
Now this one is also very special, as it was a replacement from Charlie himself upon seeing I seemed to have grabbed a weird one from Ken, another regular at the rendezvous. Charlie made it right, just as if he was GEC customer service.
Here we have a fine gift from Charlie who knows I love single blade knives, a constant desk companion where I carve rings!
others
Now I don't buy as many knives as I used to, but I do really appreciate when they come from friends, and Charlie's knives have made up a substantial chunk of my collection! I'd like to thank you Charlie for your kindness, your generosity and your friendship! Heres to you, hope you are having a wonderful birthday!
