Happy Thanksgiving to all the Hog's and Piglet's out there! I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends, that you have a lot to be thankful for, and that you take the time to be thankful.

To encourage the use of extremely fine quality steel on this special day, I wanted to throw out a little challenge. I'm going to give away two free Busse t-shirts. The first person that posts a video (from today, not a video from years past, this is on the honor system) carving their turkey with a MOAB, WTF, Hognose War Sword, Gladius, Huck, or BB13 wins a Busse t-shirt. Also, the first person to use any Busse with a 10" blade or longer and post a video of the carving will win a Busse t-shirt. The winners can pick out the size, color, and design they want, and I'll pay for it. To be clear, I don't mean taking a video of one slice, we want to see the video of the full turkey being carved with large Busse!

Updated Rules: It's now two separate contests, the first 10"+ blade to carve a turkey and post the video, and the first to post a video with one of the big boys mentioned above. Each will win a Busse t-shirt. If there are any questions please feel free to ask away.

Winners:
I'm glad that people had fun with this challenge! Please take note that I plan to do this next year as well, and perhaps I'll throw in a few interesting twists, so start planning now to make sure you have a big Busse in time for next Thanksgiving. The winners are as follows:

Twiztids4 on post #42
Cobalt on post #56

MOAB pic for attention.

Just got my turkey on my pellet smoker. For the last seven years I have been cooking my turkey based on the Mad Max Turkey Method and it has always turned out fantastic and the gravy has been amazing. In the pics below the bird is covered in a butter and herb mixture, which will melt away during the cooking.

Happy Thanks Giving all. I do not have any of those behemoths so I will wait to see who does it first.

I can't use my Gladius?!?!?:(

Oh well, Good Luck all and...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!;)
Yes, you can use a Gladius, that will definitely count! I'll update the thread rules.

That's a good point, perhaps requiring only the very large blades will limit this too much. I'll update the thread with one t-shirt for the first to use a 10"+ blade (to satisfy all the Battle Mistress owners), and the second t-shirt will be for one of the XL knives.

Well I predict that there will be a whole lot of INFI inserting itself into Turkeys this evening :D

That turkey with herb butter bet will be the shiz-NITE. No turkey for me this year, otherwise would get in, BWM think would be a great carver. Super cool of you ZMBHNTR and SO hoping to see somebody use a gladius.:) Think I'll throw on my Swamp Rat howling rat T today. It's just about miller time. Enjoy your feasts everybody and stay safe.
