Has anyone decided they have enough?

Hell g, if that was the only knife you owned, youd be doing alright-that is sweet:thumbup:

Thanks Fritz. Actually I'm thinking along those lines as well. I got my cigar box of knives (EDC/User knives) out this morning and played with them. This is the box of folders that don't have sheaths although some are rather large. It's been a while since I carried one of my slippies. Boy forgot how nice some of them are to handle and pocket carry.

This knife was gift from PlummerDave. I think I'll carry this one along with a Vantage Pro in the back pocket today.

I freshened up the edges on all three blades with my Sharpmaker and I'm ready :)

Well Fellas, I'm still in the "I have to much" mold and should be concentrating on knives I'll actually use.

I haven't bought a knife since last year. I am interested in the Hoodlum however.

I'm with Flat on this one also, have a lot already.

However, the Hoodlum will likely be on my short list once I can handle one and buy it locally. Seems like a design that brings a bit of something new to the table.

It's what happens when we get old and moldy. :D

Frankly, I had enough about 1974.

Sigh.

Yet, here I still am. Guess it's a disease, after all. And I cannot find the cure.

I keep thinking that maybe I have enough.....and then a new model comes out and I find out that I just need 1 more!

At least a dozen times a week I decide I have enough, but about a dozen times a week I decide I don't. It's a never ending cycle.

If I didn't chase knives, I would end up chasing something that wasn't good for me.

My wife gets me a new knife every year for my birthday. The last three were autos (Gerber 06, Dalton Assassin, JD forum Protech TR-4). Might have to start old slip joints now.....

Hey 300, 100% get you. Been there, done that, brought home the sweatshirt. knives are much more fun than dragons......

Another thing is the need to chase exotic steels! I fell for that for a while but I've come to the decision that most of the new exotics are just to darn hard to sharpen and I'm perfectly happy with 154cm or even lesser steels like 425M or 420HC.

Anyway, part of the excuse is the exotic steel trap.

I've been collecting knives for 35+ years. 70 or so folders and 15 fixed blades. I have all the knives I'll ever need. I find myself thinking about after I'm gone how my kin will think when going through my "stuff".
"What was he thinking? " "There must be a name for this disease."

When is enough....when no more knives are made!
Seeing the Scrimshawed Bucks by Leesa Martin makes me want some....Dang Dave keepem' coming!

I've got five more suitable knives for scrimshaw, but I'm afraid I'm going to run out of $$$ before I run out of subjects and ideas!:o

I think this is true for me as well . I try to stay within the parameters of my collection but the club knives get me side tracked . DM;)
