Haters Gonna Hate, Ganzo at BladeHQ but the price?!?

If you are talking up Ganzo knives, that's just fine. The rest of the nice folks on here are not impressed that some company can make a $3 knife and sell if for $25.

It seems like you are bragging about favoring Bologna over fillet mignon, but, cool, good for you.

This thread is on brand for the op. He has also bragged about his hyundias being better than toyotas and cheaper. He regularly pushes knife brands that steal IP. He only looks at the price of things.

The links to the knife from a non-supporting vendor are a bit much, even for him.

Favouring Baloney over Filet.

Sad story. OP spends years trying to whitewash Ganzo's behavior & is told multiple times the way they copy IP from established companies doesn't fit the ethos of the site.

He doesn't care; he keeps trying to normalize Ganzo's behavior. He gets the reputation for that shtick. And one day they gain a shred of credibility by gaining a toehold at a large well known knife dealer.

And what does the OP do? He complains "now they're too expensive".

Really?

Chronovore, I appreciate your attempt to draw on the tools of logic to address the objections you’ve encountered on the thread up to the point of your comment quoted above.

However, as someone who spent many years as a practicing logician at a university, I don’t appreciate your misuse of said tools (see what I did there? A little bit of appeal to authority). Saying that an objection fails because it’s “counterfactual” isn’t relevant. Counterfactuals have truth conditions just as much as any declarative assertion does. You just have to learn what those are.

Nor are arguments from authority poor arguments simply in virtue of fitting that particular form of argument. There are good arguments from authority and bad ones. You just have to learn the criteria that separate the first from the second.
My head hurts now. Too much thinking involved.

Thank you all for the feedback and for making us aware of the issue. Unfortunately, not all members of our team were aware of the history of this brand, so the items were purchased and listed on our site. Once the issue was noticed internally, the items were removed from our site and our employees were educated on the subject to avoid this mistake in the future.

We apologize for the confusion! We will not be carrying or selling this brand in solidarity with our knife community, our partners, and our customers. Also, regarding our dealer membership, it looks like our card info needed to be updated, so we fixed that as well. We enjoy BladeForums and check for your feedback daily because we enjoy interacting with the community and appreciate the opportunity to hear what our customers and/or fellow knife enthusiasts have to say!

We'd be more than happy to answer any other questions or concerns you may have! You can reach out here or you can email us at info@bladehq.com and call us at (888)-252-3347 M-F from 9am to 7pm EST.

Thanks again!

Wow! Good on you. I'll cruise through and grab up a blade soon for that. I've grabbed up more than a few made in the U.S.A, Italy, and German knives from there in the past and enjoyed some of their youtube videos as well.. Ben and Zac seemed like genuinely cool knife guys. I'll continue to do so as well now!

Thanks, Blade HQ. You have now ruined this thread.

So many times long threads are prime examples of nasty smut, pure rumor, hearsay, conjecture and somebody that is thinking they are "in the know" *wink* and are tied in to a very secret truth.

Massive, self-righteous chest thumping happens. Members turn on each other. Personal bashing starts between members. Some announce their doomsday plans to show offenders that they won't tolerate poor behavior. (Okay, yeah.... no doubt missing the three knives you buy from one vendor a year will be crushing for them. )

Then someone like Blade HQ comes along and says *oops* we made a mistake! We have already corrected it. Sorry about that!

It's just not right. Especially since it seemed like people were going to start disparaging Blade HQ itself. It's kind of like they ruined their own party.
