Hats & Knives

All this talk of Panama's and brown liquor made me grab another hat (Dobbs), and another picture. Sorry about the junk lighting and camera angle.

I'm not really into slipjoints, but I love hats , well baseball caps, I have worn one since I can remember, not one of those wide brimmed kinda guys either, It's either a camo baseball cap, Or My personal favorite American Eagle baseball caps, I am kinda picky though, They haft to be fitted but have an elastic band, and the brim must be able to fold and keep the fold in it , Did i say I hate wide brimmed hats... If I'm not wearing a baseball cap, which is usually only when I'm sleeping I might throw on a boonie , It too must be camo.( tells self I am not a redneck, I am not a redneck, I am not a redneck.) However I just got a sweet camo diaper bag lol

Hats and traditional knives folks. If you want to talk about hats only, the Lounge is the place to do it.

I like your dad's style. That style of hat, silver belly with cattleman's crown and 3" brim is the old school boss hat. Whenever my grandad went to town and had to look important, he had his 3" Stetson silver belly on. His painting in the Rex Allen cowboy hall of fame is of him in that hat. Unfortunate the link doesn't show his painting. http://www.rexallenmuseum.org/CHF_020.php?inductee=CHF/CHF_056

My Dad died back in 1991. He was almost ninety. This was his Stetson 10X Beaver hat, his EDC pocket knife, and his hunting knife. The folder is an old Kabar, the fixed blade a 1930s Clauss.

He lived in Arizona. In West Texas we wear a little bit different lid. 4.5" brim with a half inch lower crown, aerodynamic with plenty of son shade. Of course we have the standard issue knife pattern.

Great pics folks. Fes, you are living the dream :)

I need to take some more pics, but came across this one. I offered the hat to another forum member. Hey, I don't know how I ended up with it! :D

Amber liquid ? You asked for it : other cap, other knife and a glass of red, red wine...
