Heading home to the base of Black Mountain:

A guy had crashed his plane and was unfortunately killed out there on the flats a day prior. Everybody saw him go down but nobody could see the wreck since it was dark. Multiple civic minded citizens, the PD, the SO (both have jurisdictions on our ranch) and the Fire Dept all had to cut their own separate holes to go and try and find the wreck. Couldn't use the same hole of course. Epic fence fixing trip later.

I've got abut 30' or 40' of this Brinkerhoff because it was there and was too cool - unlike any bw I have seen - to leave abandoned in pieces in the woods. Not likely to start a collection.

A Stetson “Benton” straw hat. It has a hand crocheted leather band. My favorite outdoor hat.
And a Mike Boyd handmade blade, I think it’s a saw blade, with axis deer scales.
