Yes I have. The knife handle material was from a cut off end of a bow stave, seasoned about 10-15 years. I'd love to see some knife manufacturers use Black Locust heart wood on traditional folders.Have you used it for staves as well?

Very nice Greg and you were so kind to gift me a pair of your knives with sheath and all. You also inspired me to get my own Green River Blank and now that Spring is approaching I'll work on it this late Spring or Summer. It came with some wood for the handle but I'm unsure of what it is.Green River blade that I got as a blank and fashioned a handle from black locust and wood burned the edges. Hat depicting another of my hobbies.

Is it a Filson tin packer hat? It could be a useful purchase for the rainy weather i've to face 9 months a year when it's a good year.
