Nice knife, great hat, beautiful cat! It's been raining the last few days, so the Stetson's finally getting some use. And Miss Marple (No!. I didn't name her.), likes it, so even though it probably won't see a lot of use this Summer, it's not going back in the box.

A Homburg, I think? Looks like something you would see Winnie wearing (Churchill, not "The Poo.") Nice!

View attachment 2887617I’m lucky to have the Stetson Resistol factory and Factory Store not too far from me in Garland TX (just outside Dallas). They are still making some fine and highly functional headwear, built to last. I’ve developed a little collection mostly buying the factory seconds that are deeply discounted and have flaws that most of us don’t even know are there. Like a GEC knife with an “S” stamp, you get a deal and a well crafted “user that doesn’t need to be babied.Ironbut I wear a baseball cap almost daily too, but a wider 360 brim offers a lot of improvements when you need more protection from sun and rain and tree branches. And there’s something truly special about wearing a made in USA hat with a real leather sweatband that cannot be achieved by a gimme cap!
Mitch, back at you. I believe I’ve already shown this one here. Green woven hemp Open Road. A perfect example of a hat I probably would never have bought if I hadn’t seen it on the shelf in the seconds zone. Incredibly tough yet light and breathable. I’ve dropped and submerged it in a creek and it didn’t bat an eye. A favorite for summer fishing and hiking. I probably get more compliments on this hat than any other I wear.Nothing wrong with a full brim hat. I have lots of caps and hats I don't like a sun burnt noggin.
Look forward to seeing your others
