Hats off................to Opinel

Here’s a new-to-me Opinel from the late ‘90s.

Not sure if this is old news but instead of making a thread ill post it here.
I discovered that they have a new outdoors collection on their site. Nèo7 alpine with their opieflex slipjoint mechanism, combination blade and blunt tip (again). A no.08 Horizon, and an no.09 ocean with a sharp tip, virobloc locking ring and combination blade, built in shackle key and marlin spike.
Not sure why they keep thinking a blunt tip is a good idea or that aslipjoint knife is a safe choice while dangling from a mountain face but... i do like the ocean and the Horizon

Before I began carrying the N°10, the N°09 was my go to Opinel, but I have not carried one in years. I just tuned up this N°9 so that it flips open and closed one handed with just a bit of resistance and both locks and unlocks with my thumb on the virole. I also filed down the nub on the inside of the virole, making it possible to pop it off the interior collar for cleaning. It is just as I like it . . .

Except . . .

Who can guess what it wrong (to me) about this Opinel? (N.B., it is not the small roll on the edge.). 😉

Nice sheath! I'd love to source rivets like that.
