The funny part of that story comes more than three decades later, when my own younger son cut him self on a knife for the first time, he was worried I would be cross with him or lecture him (just as I worried about telling my tough and gruff grandpa).... i instantly remembered they way my Grandfather treated me, and instead I looked at it, and gave him a high five, and told him he would probably always remember his first time cutting him self. After putting a bandaid on it for him, he marched in and proudly showed it to my wife, and announced "I cut my self like a MAN!" He was 6 or so....
Wow very cool story and a very cool knife! Stories like this are a big reason why I like the old, well-used knives and is what gives them their character. Now your son gets to carry on the torch and hopefully he will remember that the same way you did when you were young. +2 for you, sir!
~Ever seen one of those camoflaged elephants?
~Nope
~Yeah, they’re really good
Ha! +1 for you, sir!
spiderman, spiderman,
