Anyone ever seen "ZULU DAWN"? It's been many years but I seem to recall it having some incredibly cool war scenes.

Oh, boy! Can't pick just one, either. I like most of the ones already mentioned, but how about:

Sahara - the original one, with Bogart and the tank.
The Pacific - I know, a mini-series, but it impressed me!

There are so many cant just narrow down to one. Here are just a few off my head, definately could keep going though.
The Longest Day
Apocolypse Now
Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers
Inglourious Basterds
Patriot

Actually, I think "Zulu" is far better than "Zulu Dawn."

Also, somebody mentioned "The Enemy Below." That is an excellent pick. The tension in that movie is incredible as a destroyer and a Nazi sub play cat and mouse.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned "Heaven knows, Mr. Allison"! :p

Lots of great movies listed.

"Murphy's War" is a forgotten gem. Peter O'Toole is a British sailor named Murphy who is the only survivor after a Nazi submarine sinks his ship and massacres the crew off the coast of Venezuela in the waning days of WWII. Murphy is obsessed with finding and destroying the sub, which is hiding in the the jungle-clad Orinoco River. Beautifully photographed, superbly acted by O'Toole and a small supporting cast. The scenes with Murphy teaching himself how to fly a Grumman J2F Duck floatplane are exhilarating.

I love "Murphy's War". It is a forgoten gem.

My choices are:

Saving Private Ryan
Das Boot
The Battle of Britain (Robet Shaw, Ian McShane (pre-Deadwood), Michael Caine and others
Fort Apache
The Bridges at Toko Ri
Kelly's Heroes
Dawn Patrol
Run Silent Run Deep
The Dogs of War
Stalingrad
Catch 22
Twelve O'Clock High
Behind Enemy Lines
The Enemy Below
