Having trouble with jamesk007

Well i just got off the phone with James's mother. She seemed concerned that her son owes 2 people over 300 dollars in knives. I told her that he needs to send the people there knives back. She took my email address and told me should would look into it. Well see if this helps because at this point James is telling me that hes not responsible for the Dodo

He did send me a picture of a cash reciept from the Royal Mail. All that it says is that something was shipped on 5-7-12. It is not a customs form saying it was to the US or any address saying where it was shipped.

Like ive said all along, I would love for the Dodo to show up in my mail box tommarow so we can end this. I really hope I get proved wrong and this is a big mis understanding. If thats the case id be glad to apologize and make the deal right between us.
 
Does James live at home with his Mother ? Is this a child you are dealing with ? Just some of the comments he has made I kinda thought something was not right with this guy.
 
It seems as if he is younger and lives at home with his parents. Here is her response via email concerning my phone call.

"concerning phone call we had today concerning james not returning your trade. could you please tell me what i have to send you and the other person concerned and their address. it seems there has been a misunderstanding with james concerning this."

rockgolfer, please email me your address so i can forward that info to his mother, It seems that she is going to ship our knives back to us. lets cross our fingers. Thanks
 
Well I hope after all this you two get your knives back. Sounds like you contacted the right person to get this.. Mom always knows best !!

Hello, I cant thank you enough for stepping in and helping your son do the right thing. A small back story is me and another person set up a trade with your son. We both sent him our knives and the knives he was supposed to send never showed up. It has been 1 month and its time to undo this trade. The knives we sent were brand new and look alike but are different colors. The knives are both called Spyderco Para Military 2. If you have any questions please let me know.

It is also very important to know that these knives are very expensive and have the possibilty of getting lost on the way back to the USA. Please ensure that you purchase all the neccesary postage and insurance to protect yourself. James Kernaghan is liable for these and will be held responsible until both knives arrive to us safely.

You may want to edit out the addresses...just a thought.

Other then that, sounds like you're getting some resolution. Let's hope it works out for you!
 
This has nothing to do with American attitude or UK knife laws.

It has everything to do with someone not shipping a knife, or being able to provide proof of said.

I have shipped and received knives from many countries outside of the USA, and it always hinges on the integrity of the person on the other end of the transaction.

I am disappointed in some of the attitude being shown here.

Indeed, you're quite right..... If you feel there is anything I can do to perhaps help from the other side of the pond do let me know. It looks like you have things going your way now though.

Haze and company, Can we please take the UK battle to PM's or Whine and Cheese. No disrespect intended but I would like to keep this thread moving towards the safe return of our knives. Thanks
 
This is why children should not be allowed on the exchange ;)

I hope everyone gets their problems resolved.
 
Update. James has sent me pics of the reciept for postage of my knife back to me. Will update again when my package shows up.
 
Are they marked from the original date they were supposed to go out or after the "mommy intervention"?

Be advised that you have gotten off lightly....this time.
I think you owe the members here an apology and a thank you for handling this as they did.
Also be advised, should this type of thing happen again from you. Not only will you be banned, but you may find the postal authorities knocking on your door to collect your ill gotten gain. Instead of just having to deal with your mother.
 
Damn this is why history on the forums is important, I'm always happy to trade with someone whos got an established reputation but the new guys (I know I'm new too) is kinda nerve wracking
 
This was my last email from the mother. Seems as if James was out to scam us.

"In reply to your e mail. we have returned the knives. They are to be with you in a week to ten days. I thought my son had just purchased the knives from a company and did not know it was a trade. To be honest with you i dont think my son understood what a trade was.Anyway problem has been solved.James has been dispilined and it will not be happening again. Sorry for any problems that it has caused.''

I also got the same picture of a receipt with my address on it. Hopefully they both arrive safely.
