Great pics! Pineapple is delicious but sure takes a long time to grow!

The pics are welcome, I started this thread with the intent of sharing day to day knife use. I enjoy seeing the tools in action and how people use them, so please feel free to post whatever you would like.

Have a great Father’s Day!

yes Sir. thank you appreciate it. hope ya had a great fathers day as well.

Thought I’d share my Maxpedition man bag I take with me when I leave the house. It usually comes on adventures or stays in the vehicle.

I’m only showing the cutting tools, and I need to get a small Silky saw to fit in.

My family rolls their eyes sometimes....

I agree that it's a great design. I have it attached to the outside of the pack so it's easier to get to. The steel performs well and the handle is comfortable. It's pretty thick overall, but still slices decently. For the low price you get a very handy and sturdy fixed blade.

I swung by a coconut grove to look for green coconuts. I wasn’t able to reach any ripe green ones but managed to find a few under-ripe on the ground.

I used the Spyderco Endura 4 in VG-10 to slice them open. I really like VG-10 and FRN. The steel handles impact very well and sharpens easily, and the FRN offers a great balance of grip and light weight.

I often buy this model and give it away as a gift.

Checked on the sweet potato harvest, looks pretty good for this crop so far.

Also checked another sweet corn field for development. The reproductive parts are already stating to emerge... I’m thinking wind stress is making them flower just a bit too early.

Used the AUS8 Cold Steel American Lawman. I really like the robust G10 handle on this older model. I kinda wish the XHP version still had this style and thickness but that’s just me.

Please disregard the poor attempt at the choil modification. I got carried away with a dremel....

Went on a quick meat hunt and was lucky enough to get this spike.

Used the Buck Packlight. The main blade was pretty thick behind the edge from the factory so I tried to lean it back to make it cut a little better. I honestly haven’t used the skinner or gut hook yet. This set up has cleaned about 15 deer so far with good results.

I got a decent deal on a mobile office due to excessive termite damage. I removed the panels to probe around to see what studs need replaced.

The damage is pretty bad but I will order materials and try to salvage what I can.

I used the Gayle Bradley 2 folder to poke, pry, and shave. I really like CPM M4 and this design. It carries well, is sturdy, and doesn’t need much sharpening.

I also had three phase electric installed to power the office, field lab, and dryer system I’m installing. Lord I’m broke...

Used the CRKT Civet Bowie to help open part boxes and scrape gunk to change the alternator and starter in the beater farm truck.

As you can see ordering parts online is not always fun...the starter is not correct even though the box indicates it is. Bummer.

This knife size is useful but I’m not a fan of the sheath since it’s flimsy. I’m considering making a simple leather sheath with the hopes it instills some confidence carrying this in the pocket.

The scales are wonky too, but they do help a bit with adding some tactility in hand.

Did a little field work today and took the Kershaw Link in FRN along. I like the ergos a little more than the aluminum handled version and the 420HC steel is adequate for simple cutting tasks. I used this to install drip line rolls and cut rope for tie downs.

I paired this with my old Leatherman. I miss these models due to the smooth closed exteriors. They are very pocketable in comparison to some of the newer offerings.

If Leatherman made these again with a way to create spring tension to hold the tools open I think they would have a winner. This tool is about 22 years old and has aged very well.

I cut some aged bamboo today to make some trim for a sign. This material is very hard and I used the Benchmade Griptillian in 154cm. I did a lot of cutting, twisting, and heavy bearing down to cut out the inner nodes. I was happy on how well the steel performed and do not see any chipping.

My Silky saw Gomboy 240 did not fare as well. They cut very well but you have to really make sure you do not twist or bend the blade. The steel is very hard but brittle. I ordered a Bahco Laplander today to see if it can take the abuse a little better than the Silky.

Side note: all three of my Griptillians needed Loctite on the pocket clips. They came loose from the factory with no threadlocker. After putting the Loctite the clips now have no wiggle and are much more secured.

I cut some Neem tree leaves to dry and use for natural insect repellent. I used this Schrade Pro Hunter since it was close by. I impulse bought this at a hardware store and immediately regretted that decision. The blade is loose, the lockup is aweful, and the handle is a sticky sort of material.

I do not trust this knife for anything other than very light use. I sure miss the old Schrades!
