I've been living in Alaska for the last 37 years. Was a Public Safety Officer down on Prince of Wales Island, southeast AK. This is a no question for me as I would reach for a SJTAC. Great size/weight ratio. Perfect using style blade for GP bush work. You will not regret it. Now go have fun and enjoy the scenes. I also retired from power/phone work up here.

My vote may be too late to matter, but I’d go with the Alpha.

Correct answer for me, great combo there!

Actually I want to supplement what I said previous post here....

In my opinion, the first priority is have something VERY capable on your BELT..... AT ALL TIMES!

The Alpha Regulator does not fulfill this role but the others should work there, though the Mil Reg may be a tad large to comfortably pack. Therefore, SJTAC probably makes most sense from the slimness and footprint standpoint on the belt. If you were going to carry something 4-5" on the belt and keep the Alpha Reg in the pack I'd say that is more close to ideal for overall bases covered.

Dont have some photo skills some of you guys do, but heres the pics so far with steel in them :)

infi better for corrosion

Ar 9.5 is hard to beat if you need a little chopping/ packability. regulator handles are like a lazy boy for your hands

SJ tac is thinner, but i didn't care for the handles personally, plus exposed tang might be a little rougher in the cold without gloves

that said, hard to go wrong with any of those choices
