Wow, that is scary stuff! I'm glad to see that the doctor only found small stones...based on my understanding, this kind of thing is MUCH easier to correct if you catch it early and jump on it - glad you got lucky in being able to avoid surgery!
I send prayers and support and wish you a speedy recovery from this scare...
Try to introduce fresh, or at least real apple juice into your diet - I'm not talking tree top apple juice, but the real stuff you'll find at places like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, or your local natural foods store...it's unfiltered and cloudy and needs to be shaken and feels like you're drinking liquified apples - pretty delicious actually!
The mallic acid found in real apple juice is known to help soften gall stones
If you're open to trying out some alternative remedies to really flush out your gallbladder, you do have options:
1- Chinese herbs - if you can find a decent Chinese doctor/acupuncturist they can put you on herbal formulas that will soften gall stones, improve your body's ability to process fats/oils (restore gallbladder/liver health), and possibly pass stones naturally. I see you're in Tennessee so it may take some work to find someone but hopefully there's a decent Chinese doctor near you...
This other option I can't officially recommend, but it could be worth looking into...
2- Liver and Gallbladder flush - it's controversial but works for some of those who try it and you will literally see the stones pass through your poop. I've had friends and have seen patients in my school clinic have good results with this flush. Some people say you need to do it more than once, others claim to feel better after just one, so ymmv at best. I recommend do some research, both for and against it and make an educated decision - the nice thing about it is that as long as you don't go too crazy with the epsom salts and over-load your kidneys (don't do this!), it is a safe flush.
Good luck with whatever changes you decide to make! Let us know how it all goes for you
