Health problems

It gets better. You'll find that doing and moving certain ways will aggravate it more than others. You'll adapt quickly.

Happy healing.

The puke goes hand in hand with the general anesthesia, some folks can't tolerate it. I'm lucky <I guess> cause it has no negative side effects on me. Personally, I've been put under a half dozen times with absolutely no problems.

Glad you got it taken care of...now see, we told you it wouldn't be so bad! ;)

Back in the old days before keyhole surgery, they would've had to lay you open like filleting a big old catfish. Nowadays, most of those surgeons can perform these blindfolded.

keep us updated brother! :)

Got back home about noon today. Wasn't all that bad. Did puke a couple times when they started to roll me out. Weird as I never puke. Hurting and uncomfortable right now but not as bad as I thought it would be. Doc said bladder was leathery and I did have a stone in a duct. Thought I had pinched a nerve in my upper back, hope it was the stone causing that as I have not had even a twinge with that today.
Can't thank you guys enough for the support here.

Just happy you are OK.

Humor has helped me through some rough times.

Heal fast, be careful, and post whenever the mood strikes.

Feeling better today. Yesterday was rough. Fell down the last 4 steps going down stairs. Hit my butt and arm so no damage that counts just hurt bad from flexing mussels. So far this morning walking around has been easier. The larger cut above the navel has been the sore one. Feels like I have done 100 sit ups. Tried to watch a funny movie and some vids but laughing really hurts. Was going to go walk around a gunshow today but decided not too after going to Wal Mart to walk around yesterday. Got kind of sick feeling quickly,I will do the walking around for the gas at home. Think it is close to gone,do not feel as bloated today.
I have never been one to take pain pills unless the pain is very bad but I got to say the Hydros have been a blessing when trying to sleep.
Thanks to all of you for the well wishes.

Sounds so familiar..... My best friend went through the same pain. He also developed a hernia, a couple of years later. Had to get operated for a double hernia.

He quickly learned to enjoy scotch & whiskey...... Hang in there!!!!

they pump your abdomen up with CO2 gas or the like until your belly resembles a pup tent so they have room to work...that's where all the excess gas comes from, BTW.

The sore cut was from manipulating the surgical tools around to get to your gall bladder...I've watched this surgery on video and it's kinda amazing how rough they manipulate those probes and cameras around inside the patient. I guess <hope> it only appears that way to the uninformed viewer...they're the pros. But after viewing that procedure it's pretty easy to see that residual soreness would be an issue. You probably already know all this, so sorry if it bores you. :o

as for the opiates, I can't hack em :thumbdn:....it's weird but they make me hear things that aren't there and jam me up <bathroom-wise> really bad. Glad they work for you, but be mindful they can be SUPER ADDICTIVE! Some folks develop hardcore habits after legitimate issues when they truly need them like injuries or after surgeries. Not implying this will happen to you, but be careful. There's a "pain-management" <read: legalized dope dealer> clinic across the way from my work site and their parking lot is ALWAYS full. The people who go in & out look like great citizens....I often wonder to myself how many of them are hooked on pills...

good call on sitting out the gun show...I agree it seems like a good way to get in some exercise and help with the bloating at the same time, but you're still not far enough out from your surgery to take that on.

sorry to hear about the steps...so please don't drive until you are yourself again. And DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT reprofiling any blades...we don't want to read about any "unscheduled" surgeries of yours!;):p

Keep posting up Jeff! :)

Funny because I thought about sharpening a big Busse today. I am very careful with the pills. Huge pill head area here with tons of those pain clinics, hate them. I can stand hydros but the oxy and perkaset? make me sick as a dog. I can't think of any pain I would have that I would rather have that sick feeling over much less recreational use. I did have some really wild dreams last night

Yup brother, seems like a couple decades ago folks in Tenn. traded their moonshine & Jack for pills & meth...can't say which is worse :thumbdn::mad::thumbdn:

Meth, pills and heroine all about the same in my book. They destroy every life they come in contact with. The later is making a big comeback to replace meth around here. Heard some people complaining (posted on facebook) about some guy sitting in a truck at our local Lowes shooting up today.

Getting there. Gas is still there, seems to have moved up into my back and shoulders. From what I have heard that should be the last place it settles before its gone. Thinking by the first of the week I will barely know I had anything done. Even with all this I have felt better than that hurt from the Gallbladder. Didn't realize how much that near constant ache was bothering me and now have the relief of not worrying about eating something to bring on a bad attack.
