Thank you J1M for sharing your story with us. It is truly inspirational to read of how strong people can be when faced with life changing circumstances. JforBush sounds like a really stand up guy. I have seen more acts of random kindness on these forums, and it makes me glad to be a part of it.

Mrs. MikeyJ just read the original post, and we will both pray for Mrs. J1M to remain disease free!!

Merry Christmas (or holiday of your choosing) to Mr. and Mrs. J1M, Jforbush, all of my fellow Beckerheads, RatPackers, and all who continue to contribute to this forum, and who constantly renew my faith in humanity.

Damn, my eyes might have gotten a little moist too.
Great story with a happy ending.
I hope your and your wife's trail is clear and pleasing from here on out.
Merry Christmas from Tennessee.

Well............ I am wrong sometimes. At times I loose all faith in my fellow man however, stories like this prove that some folks are still generous in this time of self gratification and greed. I am so glad your wife's condition has improved and she is cancer free. What a relief it must be for the both of you. Best wishes too you, your wife, and family.

No need to enter me in the contest, Thanks!

Thank you for the story, I'm glad to hear she's doing well.

As a registered nurse, I've helped many people just like your wife fight the battle with cancer. I've seen what cancer can do, and I've seen success stories and and I've seen tragedies. I'm glad this experience has given you a new outlook on life. Cherish this second chance, and every moment that comes with it.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Beautiful story! That is truley the spirit of Christmas.

I do not want to be considered for this very nice giveaway, as I have recieved more than enough from this forum allready.

I really just wanted to let you know I have watched me mother suffer through a double Masectomy, and she made it out just fine. It seams like you are a very supportive and loving husband, and that is exactly what your wife needs. God bless you both.
My mother now councils women who are fighting breast cancer, so email me if your wife would like to speak to her about anything.

Merry Christmas

Iris223, thank you for your kind words & thoughts. I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt Sally is where she is today because of two things. One, we prayed more than we ever had, and two, she just would not give up. She just had that "I'll be damn if this is stuff is going to get me" attitude, her exact words I heard her say a hundred times over. Thank you for doing what you do, I had the priviledge of meeting some of the most amazing women who were her nurse's as well, & I swear when they left the hospital after their shift, that is when they put their wings back on . . . God bless you for what you do each day, I guarantee you it is appeciated by those who may not tell you, but it is just the same.
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
Be safe.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know there are folks out there that still have a caring heart. merry Christmas to you and yours.

Like many have said, I think its a little dusty in here, cuz my eyes are watering. It amazes me to hear stories of people fighting so hard to beat this. It amazes me even more to hear about the goodwill that goes along with it.

So much to say.......

Awesome Story! I am glad to hear your Wife is doing good. I went through the same thing with my Mother this year. She had to go through Radiation and Chemo. She just finished her last treatments. She is the strongest person I know cause I took it harder than she did and it was with her determination to beat breast cancer that gave me strength. After the shock wore off I decided I was going to be strong for her. I am glad to say she beat the cancer and is on the road to recovering and getting her strength back.

Mike, I know exactly what you mean. I knew I had to keep a stiff upper lip because Sally can read people like an FBI agent. When she would fall asleep or go in for her naps, I would go into the family room or gun room & just sit and shake wondering what was going to happen, not knowing what the outcome was going to be, but most of all, there wasn't a damn thing I could do to help her, she had to fight this alone & by herself. I had never felt so helpless in my life with something so close & could not do anything about it.
I hope your mom is doing better, & you also need to take care of yourself as well. This was one thing the nurses' kept reminding me to do. Please tell your mom Sally & I will have her & yourself in our prayers. Thank you for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated.
Be safe.
