Heavy duty fixed blade EDC

For serious heavy duty use, I like my Microtech Socom Alpha Mini's. I've got one tanto version, and another with a clip point (both in M390). They come with an excellent sheath with a Tek-Lock, but it might not work well for IWB. For dedicated IWB carry, you're probably going to want something with a flatter profile. Couple HD options that come to mind are the Benchmade Adamas (CPM CruWear) and the Spartan Blades Formido (CPM-S45VN). The Emerson Police Utility Knife (PUK) is also a great EDC HD fixed blade. Mine is in 154CM. Love it.

David Mary custom flip point in AEBL or Kagitsume if you like wharncliffes. Wait time is between two to four months. Four inch blade range and 3/16” AEBL at 61 RC. Beastly and slicey.
I can testify that my Flip Point in AEB-L is tougher than a person could reasonably need and an absolutely excellent field knife. Mine is robust, but David Mary David Mary can grind it as thick or as thin as you'd like.

What blade length range and expected uses ?

If you want IWB , for CC , that might limit your blade length and overall footprint . Depending on your own body size , conformation and clothing .

Also depends on your daily activity . Lots of sitting and/or in/out of vehicles vs mainly outdoors , on your feet .

Your budget is important also . How much can you spend ?
Blade length anything above 3 inches that can be concealed well, outdoors a ton, mostly wear jeans, anything under $500, I do want G10 or Micarta on the handle and it needs to be darn well near unbreakable, I push my knives hard.

Thank you for the kind endorsements my friends. It has been a pleasure to serve you and the joy never stops when I see that you have been using your knives and they have made your lives a little more joyful and your tasks a little more convenient. After reading over the thread again, I have changed my recommendation to a Prevex in 3V and a Prevail in AEB-L, both at 3/16" stock thickness, and both which I could do within the aforementioned time frame.

And Bobthebrewer Bobthebrewer indeed, only a few minutes ago I sent a message also endorsing the benefits of Suretouch. It is to this day, in my experience, the best knife handle material, hands down, as far as striking a balance between comfort, grip, and attractiveness at a reasonable price point.

Not to be a buzzkill, I'm Not normally THAT guy........ but Your profile says you're 15?
I love knives, have personally carried one since I was 8. But that was before the internet, it was a small folder, and I wasn't talking to strangers.....

I Don't think you should be carrying a fixed blade concealed.

I think it's Great that you are interested in knives. I'd buy my kid one..... but today, with lawyers and stuff. It would have to be with your Parents.
-sorry.

I would have no hesitation making a knife for someone who posts publicly on Bladeforums with a paid membership, whether the age says 15 or 65. The simple fact is that someone can lie about his or her age online but if Thiess actually is 15, and had no desire to lie about it, that already sets a precedent of trustworthiness. And if he wants to buy up to $500 worth of knives, then it's fair and reasonable to trust that this is not against the rules of whomever he's dependent upon, if anyone. Why? Because who would spend $500 at the risk of and having it discovered it taken away, for starters? $500 is not chump change to most kids, as far as I know. And lastly, a hooligan or unsavory sort of 15 year old would not post on Bladeforums looking for a knife for bad purposes. He'd go into Walmart and walk out with a 7" kitchen knife for $10.

One knife I have been eyeing off is the demko armiger. Which has that very flat wide sheath which should go inside the waistband quite well. (I have the freereign wich I like. But this one is smaller)

It doesn’t have magic steel or micata handles though. But I just kind of like rubber handles for shock resistance and temperature insulation. Which is part of my view of hard use is I am smashing it in to things and therefore shock through the handle.

You might want to rethink this until you review the laws on selling dangerous weapons to minors. In many places this could result in felony charges filed against you.....

We don't have felonies in Canada, we have Criminal Code violations (summary offences, indictable offences, and hybrid offences), and selling cutting tools to a minor is not among them.

Morally, I also have no hesitation by mere age alone, because there are people both mature and responsible, and immature and irresponsible, regardless of age.
All that is true.... but what I could see as an issue (hypothetically, not this individual.....) Person, sells, gives, loans, whatever to an Amazing, smart, well respected youth...... But his one friend gets ahold of said item, and does something bad/stupid.

That gets traced back to the adult.
Too much that could go wrong.
Too much potential trouble. Not worth the stress. Sorry.

And again, things are prob different in the States.

Nebulous, vague, unjustified. Besides those things can happen regardless of who owns the knife. Kids in the house? Better not sell to a dad.... 🤷‍♂️

Parents are legally responsible in That situation.
