Hello Old Friend, 710 content..

It is not that much larger than a para2.
for me carrying the 710 clipped in a pocket is more comfortable than the para2, also easier to take in out....

the closed length of the 710 is 4.9" & blade is 3.90"
PM2 is 4.8" & blade 3.42" (with a 3.07" cutting edge)
Overall length: 710 is 8.80" / PM2 is 8.27"

that is why i really like the handle / blade ratio of the 710...

can post more pics later if u need...

My brand new 710 arrived today and I absolutely love it. The fit and finish is superb. I can't expresses how impressed I am with this knife. The large blade is a thing of beauty and everything from the smooth Axis lock to the thick stainless liners to the nice G10 and handsome back spacer all compliment each other perfectly. And that large blade practically disappears in the handle when closed. Awesome design.

I know they make em in M390, although I don't have one yet. But can you imagine how awesome one would be in like S90V, or M4, Or S3V? That would be off the chain. I am a BM fan, through and through. I just wish that they would do some limited edition stuff, so we could have some cooler than production items.

Yeah I like limited editions too. I missed the M390 710 from last year. D2 is a great steel. But I would love a new 710 with M390 or S90V. And maybe CF too. Drool !!!

I missed out on the M390 and then the M4 limiteds earlier this year. Hoping they do another run soon.

I thought you'd like it, it really is that nice.
And it's still my new favorite.

I'll be the lone dissenting voice. I bought one when they first came out (in ATS-34) and had it for many years, but never really carried it or used it. The flat handles just didn't feel that good in my hand. The recurve was a bear for me to sharpen correctly on my Sharpmaker also, so my mini-AFCK or mini-Grip got most of my pocket carry. I finally sold it to get one of the M4 limited edition AFCKs, and I haven't missed it. Now, if it had contoured handles it might be a different story now that I have an Edge Pro to sharpen with (I'd just get some 1/2" stones to use with it), but it would be hard pressed to replace my Contego as my large knife.

Sounds like it worked out for you.

Indeed. The 710 is what got me hooked on Benchmade because of the ambidextrous Axis lock (I'm a lefty). I moved on to knives that fit my hands much better, but -- with the exception of my left handed mini-AFCK -- they are all Axis lock knives.

I don't post much, but I had to jump in on the love for the 710. I have an early ATS-34 that's still in my edc rotation. But I also have one in the safe that is stamped "Pre-Production" with a black ALUMINUM handle and black ATS-34 blade. It's indivudually numbered (#xxx out of 500) and I've never seen another.

Killer knife in both aluminum and G10 that has totally stood the test of time.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next round of 710 limited editions.

I may also get another 710 D2 in addition to the one I have because I love the knife that much.

Posted this in the Bedlam thread but it looks to be right at home here.
I tried to line the knifes up right at the index finger groove. I feel that it brings about a better blade/ handle size comparison. Enjoy!

The 710 was always a model that "kinda" interested me, so I finally bought the one in D2 off the exchange, to try it out.
Really glad I did. It has become my favorite Benchmade to carry, with the 940 a close 2nd.
It fits my XL hands very comfortably, and carries so well, and unobtrusively.
The 710-1 in M390 was an early birthday gift to myself, along with getting in line for a set of Keyman's scales!

Where did you get those pocket clips?

Thank you! The polished looks good, I wonder if they come in parkerized.
Ask Benchmade, and ye shall receive!:D

They are the deep carry clips that come stock on the 810.
I asked for black, and they sent me polished. Not complaining!

The black deep carry clip on my 810 appears to have the same coating they use on their black blades. (Not Cerakote)

I have to send my 710 in because the blade is hitting the backspacer. I was wondering if I ask them if they would put the deep carry pocket clips on mine that you have pictured?

Those are BM pocket clips, right? Will they swap mine out if I ask?
