...But don't check that forum too often. Total waste of time. Once a week should be plenty (until I get my SJTAC non-ETS from someone anyway) ;)

lol, you shouldn't trick him like that. Once a month or so is often enough really :D

Is there anything bad about the BOSS street? Since I just ordered one... (This is for belt carry while hiking / bushwalking, so light camping duties). I realise it's pretty much all personal preference, but... just curious.

edit: Reason I am asking is because they are at factory price right now, which is about as good as it gets, but only 1 reccomendation?

Some of us find the BOSS Street to be on the porky side, and wish there was a thinner version.

The rest of us find it to be just fine as it is. ;)

Ain't nothing wrong with the BOSS Street...it'll do just fine and is thick enough to be used as needed to handle whatever you throw at it. The only limiting factor will be its blade length, so get ready to beat it like it owes ya money!

+1

BOSS Street rocks just as it is. I love mine!

Ok. I have decided to get the SAR 3 for my EDC/companion knife. I checked the mojo website (great suggestion resinguy)and now I definetley am undecided on a tactical blade. I have however decided to get either a Battle Mistress or a Steel Heart for my wilderness survival knife. I really like the idea of getting the Bushwacker at the direct price and it could replace my cheap machete. The only concern I have with that is the thickness or should I say thinness of the blade. I'm not sure how a thin blade like this would hold up to a lot of batoning and chopping. Also, I am unfamiliar with a lot of the variations and abbreviations. (LE, FATTY, or anything that looks like this NMSFNO!) And what's the deal with the MUDDY BLADE? Sorry for all the questions. But thanks for answering the newbie!

LE = Limited Edition numbered run of any blade. Usually satin.
Fatty = Thicker variety of a particular knife. Starting around .22 I think.
NM = Nuclear Meltdown - All rounded edges
SFNO = Special Forces Natural Outlaw. A variant on the natural outlaw I believe.

The names and treatments tend to get long so people use the abbreviations. The designations basically describes the knifes handle, blade thickness, edge treatment, and blade finish. You can get an idea of the exact knife by the abbreviation.

F= Typically means "Fusion" for the style name of the handle.
SH = Straight Handled anything (as opposed to fusion handle)
CG = Combat Grade - Crinkle Coat colored finish on blade - Usually the cheaper option to satin
SE = Special Edition - Usually satin but not numbered
HOG(FSH) = Heavy Ordinance Grade (Fusion Steel Heart)

NMFBMLE - Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Battle Mistress Limited Edition <---You are not worthy :D

Oh, and muddy blades are just a brownish colored crinkle coat finish (See CG)

I would definitely not be worried with the thickness of the Bushwacker Mistress (BWM) - at .19" it's thicker than most of the tactical and bushcraft blades out there. You will not break it. And I would not put it in the same class as a machete - yes it's not the thickest Busse available, but it's still a monster - .19" is thick! The beauty of that blade is that it's big, can chop but still rather light in the hand - pair it up w that SAR3 and you will realistically never need another knife again.

As for the Steel Heart, I don't see what the advantage would be over the BWM paired w a SAR3... plus I could never justify paying the aftermarket prices for one when you have a BWM available for under $375 shipped...

Regardless of the direction you go, you will absolutely be happy and bases covered. AND, these certainly won't be your last Busses :D

Wow! That helped a lot adrock1978. Now I want a NMFBMLE OH YEAHHH!!!!

What is the blade with the groves that look like they are stacked on top of each other? That's the best way I know to expiain it.

Trailwolf you are really making me want to get that BWM! That is a great price for such a large INFI blade. Does anyone have any experience with the BWM! Especially chopping and batoning. Any blade chipping issues?

You will need a few extra swings during chopping compared to a FBM or NMFBM, but for the weight trade, it's worth it. As far as batoning goes... she can take whatever you can throw, and I haven't had any chipping isses at all.

That's probably a variety of a Fusion Battle Mistress. I forget the reasoning behind it. I don't think I've seen anything other than a BM with that blade. You can probably search Youtube for Bushwhacker Mistress Reviews. Or just search around here. I have yet to hear a single complaint.

Have you Looked up Hog Cult yet? That has a photo and description of just about every Busse knife in no particular order.
