Help. DowntownDM?

BUMPITY BUMP, Keep in mind, this seller: DowntownDM is crapless. He needs to send off at least 2 items that he has been paid in full for. LAME LAME LAME< and apparently there are no life emergencies that can be used for an excuse.. He posts, he reads PMS, and he doesn't respond now.


AVOID DowntownDM, thief of the forums currently. Stay tuned.



Mostly I want my $$ or item, but will be content knowing this POS never buys/sells here again. SO we need his address, name used for MO, and any IP or user info we can gather. ESAV you need to take that IP, do a tracert on it, and locate his location so that we can build a database on his potential locale and names for potential future issues. He will probably try to sign up as a new member sometime and continue his antics.

Anyone with info. or ideas, feel free to PM me. later.

Having done a few completely successful deals with David in the past, the last being this past summer, I am as baffled as you two. :confused:

After catching up on this thread, I sent him an email (this time) advising him that it's not too late to fix this. Although I know he's been online as recently as 2/01/11, there does exist the remote possibility that something is keeping him from completing these deals, perhaps a family emergency situation for example. I'm not trying to make excuses or cover his arse, but just saying. Regardless, I just sent this email...let's see if he responds to this thread.

If he still does not respond, I have a good amount of contact info on him, which I will turn over to Esav Benyamin only, and let him decide the best course of action on this matter from there.

Unless the guy is in a coma there is no excuse for not typing and sending a super short, and right to the point E-mail,

He knows he has two deals pending and a 10 second E-mail is all it takes.

Don't get me wrong, I do have compassion for folks who find themselves in a jam. I just have no compassion for folks who do not communicate what's up to those who are in the wings waiting.

If you don't have the time to write an email explaining why you haven't completed the first transaction then surely you should have NO time conducting a second transaction.

Obviously he has plenty of time to visit the forum and post in the Busse forum.

I saw that...which is why I am trying to get David to respond and handle this. I am not an Exchange Mod, nor a SuperMod... I'm just a lowly Busse forum Mod. BTW, I'm not looking to make excuses. Lack of comms is most definitely inexcusable...outside of a coma or worse.

Uh yeah.. He's been on more than a few times and posted about busse/infi.. must be a real family emergency... He's a thief, if he cared, he'd made good on these deals already. He hasn't.. Each day just proves he is a selfish lowlife thief. HE needs to get what is coming to all thieves.... And he will get his soon, if not by one of us.. It will happen :)

To be clear... You paid for the INFI Kiridashi and Fuzillade paid for the Nukopod that was shown attached to the kiridashi, correct? (apologies if I overlooked this somewhere on this thread. :))

ETA: BTW, I typo'd...twice. I see his last activity as around 12:30pm on 2/01/11.

Thanks for trying to help out here Jaxx. :thumbup::thumbup: But there is only so much you can do. I hope all is well with him but these guys deserve some word. :confused:
 
Thank you all, Jaxx especially for your help in trying to resolve this situation.

I have contacted Esav, and he said that David's account has been banned.
Unfortunately, it will only be an account ban, not an IP ban, so he could
potentially make another account, which is likely. I will be keeping my eyes open.

I still can't bring myself to believe that he would blow his otherwise great reputation on this forum for some money? Doesn't add up to me, but hey, I'm not the one stealing people's money like a lowlife, am I?

I hope he does pop out of the hole he's hiding in to say something though.
 
It is not surprising at all that someone would do this for a minimal amount. I got ripped off in a similar situation. I traded with a guy, I sent my knife, he never sent his, never replied till pressured, then finally gave me endless excuses. He got his user name and real name published and legitimately defamed, and eventually a life time ban.

All this for a $25 blade that he owed me.

All we have is our rep and our honor; it is amazing to me how cheap some people sell theirs for.
 
Funny how this guy use to advertise a few grand worth of ideal users under his sig line but is willing to sell his rep for jack, sad. DowntownDM, man up/grow a pair or expect your name to have the word scumbag/dishonorable/chump petty thieve next to it whenever anyone googles you. What goes around, comes around, never forget that.

Ban can make you another one. Just wont be INFI.

I had a similar experience with DowntownDM. He wanted some mod work done to a BWM and I bought the required materials for it then he fell off the the face of the earth. Im stuck with the materials that hopefully I can use for another project.

Yes, the thought of him sitting at home thinking how easy it was to fool some people into giving him money for nothing makes me sick, but there really isn't a purpose in dealing with those types of people.
 
Are you guys still looking into the mail fraud angle? I really hope so -- I'd love to see this POS lose even more than his reputation as a result of all this.
