HELP!? I am being ignored by Roger Linger!!!

I ordered a WSK from Roger almost two years ago now, last August he sent me pictures of the profiled blade, and now its almost a year later and HE WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE 100 EMAILS I HAVE SENT HIM. I have payed in full and have waited almost four years for a custom WSK, I cant help but feel like after I sent him the money he just figured he didnt have to send me my knife. So please any colleaugues' of Rogers or friends I dont know if he changed his email or what, but I would like to call and talk to him like, not scream, just talk, and if you would wrather email it to me so its not there for everyone to see, thats fine, im not going to give it out.... I just want my knife, and Im pretty sure you can empathize with me, if not sympathize. Thanks.
 
Communication issues with Roger seems to be common with him. Roger does not communicate well by E-mail, as evidenced by the several threads here on BFC, folks are asking every now and then how to get in touch with him. Eventually folks get through and Roger comes through. I have enough trust in Roger to say with confidence that he has never and will never intentionally stiff anyone. It's all a matter of communication!!

Instead of E-mail try the telephone. Roger probably is a one man show and spends much of that time making knives. I bet there's little time left in a day to read and answer E-mails consistently.

I bet if you dialed his phone number you'll have far better luck. Anyway, you can put his number on speed-dial and call him 100 times about 100 times faster and easier than E-mailing him 100 times!!!:D (say that sentence 100 times fast:D:eek::D)

Good luck my friend, perseverance in this matter hopefully will prove fruitful.

***AMMENDED: I was thinking of another maker and not this Hall of Shamer. Please disregard my utterly stupid post, this Roger has shown over and over that he is a Mar-roon!!!!

FYI its best to NEVER pay upfront on any custom knife. not ever with anyone, a legit 'smith wont ask you to anyway, imho its a red flag when someone even mentions full payment upfront, & i will never even consider it. not ever with anyone. oh, a small % if ya want say damascus this or that or ivory something, thats ok, but payment in full?? never, like i said a legit 'smith will never ask for that anyway.

that said (& i know its been said 100,000 times) i do wish you luck in obtaining your knife, very few 'smiths are worth a 2 yr wait and linger isnt one of them.
 
i almost had him help with vg's collaboration knife. he even wanted paid for his work. i'm so glad i didnt.

Hate to say this but Roger is a member of our Hall of shame. You are probably screwed out of your money. As said before, NEVER SEND A KNIFEMAKER MONEY IN ADVANCE UNLESS YOU ARE REQUESTING SPECIAL MATERIALS SUCH AS GOLD OR DIAMONDS ETC.

A reputable knife maker will not ask for cash in advance. Roger owes everyone a knife..( or money )

Good luck..but I would contact local law enforcement in Rogers hometown to see if they can extract your money.
 
Roger Linger has just about the worst attitude I have seen in a knifemaker. He thinks it is perfectly okay for him to take customer's money and then to take as long as he feels like to make them a knife. He also thinks that people that complain about being treated like that are just a bunch of whiners. No matter how late he is in delivering a knife, he refuses to give refunds, and thinks he is justified in doing this. He makes good knives, but I would never order from him.
 
I vaguely recall there was some reason we didn't ban him from posting ... we put him in the Hall of Shame, anyway -- that's worse than walking the plank.

I think because he was kind enough to come online and explain how he didn't owe anybody anything and it was just their good luck they might get a knife they'd paid for sometime or other if he got around to it.

We're keeping him in play in hopes he'll come back and say that again.
 
i wonder if his home number i have is any good. i would try it but its not worth my time to try. i would rather spend it reading the forums:thumbup::D

I'm in the same boat right now. I was told by Roger that my knife was almost done and to send him the balance on the payment. I sent the rest of the payment via sign registered receipt over a year ago and still haven't heard back from him. what email do you have for him because the one I have keeps coming back as undeliverable. I've been calling him, but it just rings and rings.
 
I've been phoning him to no effect for a long time now. Mods: Is it inappropriate to post the phone number he gave me? It seems to be legitimate.
