in my car.

A couple of days ago my youngest son came to me and said that he had seen a mouse on the back-seat of my car. So I went out to look. I didn't see any mice, but I did see mouse-droppings on the back seat.:grumpy:
Out came the mousetraps and baited (one with cheese, one with salami), they were left in the car overnight...
The following day I wen't out to the car expecting to see atleast one flattened mouse.
Great was therfore my surprise whn I saw that the little bastard had (in the best cartoon-style) taken the bate, but left the traps:mad:
I tried again, this time fastening the bate with sewing-thread... Same result..

So now all I have to say is.....HEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!:)
Someone....Anyone?!?

i havent had this problem since i was a kid. but what we always used was peanut butter on the trap. They cant drag that away :)

same, i'd suggest peanut butter or even nutella if you got it in the pantry.

Thank's for the quick reply:)
I'll try the peanutbutter.
And if that doesn't work....Dynamite!:D

you can also try those sticky pads, but might get messy if you don't fasten em' down.

They scream bloody murder when they get caught in the glue traps and they bounce all over, dragging them off with them. But the traps do catch them.

Mice fill an ancient niche,
living between bigger beasts,
hoping for scraps to snitch,
turning refuse into feasts.

Hiding in holes behind walls,
silently roaming at night,
whispering their careful calls,
no reason at all for fright.

Mice are happiest unseen;
they find most people are mean.

Anchor that trap down. That sticky stuff works, but it's a cast iron pain in the @$$ to get off anything other than a hard surface. A friend of mine tried that style of trap with rats here, and at least on of the little thugs dragged the thing around, then somehow got loose and tracked sticky crud all over their new unsealed countertop. Back to mechanical traps, PB, anchored down. Finally got'em all.

Try a bucket trap. Get a small pail and at the top using coat hanger wire attach a treadle which is simply a smaller diameter piece of cardboard. Fill the bucket half way up with water and place crumbs on the center of the treadle. Create a ramp out of carpet, board etc. and let the trap work wonders. When the mouse steps on the treadle the treadle pivots and the mouse falls in the water and drowns. One morning at camp we had five of them floating there.

I dunno what their called, but we had these enclosed ones with a trigger that when the mouse walked in to get the food the door shut and the mouse was trapped.

Put a fox in your car !!.... Some of the traps aren't well made and need a "trigger job" so it snaps at less pressure.....I would carefully inspect the car perhaps taking out the seats to remove any nests, engine compartment too.Inside air cleaner etc. I know a fellow who had serious throttle problems, the car would speed up or slow down on it's own. A mouse had put a nut in the air cleaner and it dropped down and interferred with the flapper valve !!

Use the stickiest stuff you can find for the bait so they have to spend time and effort getting it off. I really like to chew up a piece of Tootsie roll and mash it on there or a really chewy piece of caramel. I've had excellent luck with these clamshell traps too. They're cheap, easy to set, and you don't have to touch the little diseased buggers:

Yeah peanut butter always gets them at my job and the whole place is infested. Those sticky traps work but like everyone said it sucks to clean up the mess if it get towed or flipped.

Well if they got in , they can get out ;)
A 5 gallon plastic bucket , 1/4 full of water ( a little antifreeze if it gets cold ) A stick passing through a soda can smeared with peanut butter across the top , and a small board for the lil critters to walk up to the top of the bucket.
Mouse goes for the peanut butter , can spins , mouse drowns , next one trys and the same thing happens ( they don't learn from others mistakes ) Set this near your car each night , better than having them die in your car.

You might've put too large of pieces of bait in the trap. Try smaller and, with both salami and cheese, make sure to squeeze it into that little hole in the trigger. That way, they have to work at getting it out....wham!

simple , Bounce dryer sheets (original)... something about the dryer sheet mice do not like , but it will work.

Peanut Butter has never failed me. I just caught two mice last month.
Peanut Butter never fails.
