Go Down East an' get ya one of these here cats, a-yup

fat-cat.jpg

That's a 24 pound Maine Coon cat.

Where the hell do you get a cat that size? I think they're banned in oz, they might kill too many sheep and cattle!!!

TRY PRUNES......They are sticky and have stringy stuff in them....when the mouse or rat tries to pull it off ...your done.

Seriously, try the Nestle Crunch bar melted to the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

Bucket trap. There is nothing better IMO. Low maintenance, don't need to be reset, clean kills every time and doesn't create 'educated' rodents like spring type traps.

My all purpose rodent/varmint bait is a mix of peanut butter and banana, you don't need to use much for mouse/rat traps - just put a little bit on your finger and smear a scent trail up the ramp and onto the balance portion of the trap.

Peanut butter/Banana also works well for raccoons and especially well for oppossums.

Finaly!
One mouse in the trap:thumbup:
The bate was a piece of kiwi w.peel(?)
Me 1...mice 43:rolleyes:

The war rages on..:D

You're lucky it wasn't a porcupine , they would eat rubber belts, hoses etc !!! ...Here's how a fox does it !!

One easy way to get rid of them with-out ever having to see or touch them is Oil of Peppermint extract. This works with anything in the rodent family. Just coat some cotton balls (if you have any that aren't covered in PJ) and toss them in your car. The mice will bug out shortly there after; and your car will smell nice and minty too!

For this to work you have to get the real stuff not some fake substitute. If you have a nice grocery store near you they should have it; if not a natural foods store will most certainly have it.

This works with homes as well. If you find mice just place oil of peppermint soaked cotton balls around your house any it will drive them away. I regularly place these in my basement after having a mouse problem and haven't seen a mouse since, and no more musty basement smell!

Good luck!

Bare Rib: That sounds like a great idea! Think In still have some JPO (japaneese peppermint oil) lying around somewhere.

TDahlgren: don't have raccoons and oppossums in this country... :)

BTW, over the weekend I got me two of the evil little buggers (mice) using simple snap traps on my kitchen counter (ew!!). I like the Victor EasySet Traps that are "supposedly" pre-baited. They have a large yellow square bait pad on which I add just enough peanut butter to fill the holes in the pad. Here's a link:
