Spyderco Sharpmaker. I sharpen all my recurves, hawkbills and reverse "s" blades with the SM and it works great. Given how slight the recurve is on the 710 you should be able to use either the corners or the flats of the rods. As Lee48 said, regular maintenance will make your life much easier. Give your knife a quick touchup every now and then on the sharpmaker. This will take about 30 seconds (on any steel) and you will always have a screaming sharp knife in your pocket.
Yup...get the Sharpmaker. Great tool for keeping all knives sharp and it doesn't cost nearly as much as some of the more elaborate sharpening systems. I also use the ceramic rods freehand. Works great with recurve blades.

take a look at some of the Kizer knives, they are high quality knives made in china with all the features that knifelovers are into for great prices. they have a variety of titanium framelocks and flippers for under $150
the kizer splinter seems to be popular on these forums and i see it on the smokey mountain website, the splinter is just one example of the many nice knives that kizer offers.
