Help me choose my winning logo design! 2nd poll

Very few people are interested in holding and maintaining standards.

I don't know that I would call using a graphic only as a maker's mark (or one with initials, like mine) "low standards". But I do now see it as somewhat shortsighted.

I personally like the logos rather than names (not that I don't appreciate the names on blades at all) it's just what my goal is on my knives for right now.

I remember hearing about SharpbyCoop's tragedy before. But I decided to look through the thread this time to see where I can find remaining images. Page 71 starts off good and strong Matthew Gregory Matthew Gregory .

Exactly the point.

Use your name to mark your work.
Yeah, some of us tried to make that point prior in this thread.

If your work survives you, your name should as well. Personally, I like the logo on the blade and the name etched/stamped/lasered on the ricasso. Name can be on the spine or tang as well, just so that it’s not in an area that could be worn away or lost in a regrind.
But, I’m only a buyer, so who cares what I say.

There's nothing to worry about. I'm not going to stop making knives while I await my new stencils, I'm not going to make knives with the old ones when they get here, and I'm not going to miss a meal because of this decision.
That means I'll have collector DM blades with the old style mark! I appreciate you making my pieces more exclusive 😉

Unless you are trying to hide / avoid new customers , just clearly put your name on the knives you make .

Nobody buys just because of a cool enigmatic logo , especially if they can't decipher it ! ;)
That's why the first one on the box is best: 'design initials.' (I dont remember seeing it last round.) Relative to the other three, it's classy and unique. Similar to Heretic or Medford. At a glance, you know what those are.

Of course. I want my logo to be obvious but I don’t want it to just be my name especially with the length of it. I think a lot of handmade knives look much more professional with a logo and not just text.
The name is a little busy. The knife designs could be end of box with model numbers and such.

Interestingly for the one custom knife i own. I have a whole laminated sheet proving the custom knife is custom and how he customed it.

And admittedly the mark on the knife isn't great.

Me as well! I happy David is going to add his name again, but sad that he has to take a loss on his stencils.
Perhaps he doesn't need to throw them away, they can still be used for throwback pieces, kinda like how Emerson keeps bringing back designs after he discontinued them 😁

Embrace the simple and obvious, how about LK knifes?
FWIW a quick search turned up no north american knife maker results with that moniker.
A circle around the letters LK wouldn't be a bad look.
Chris Reeves is another good example...although the CR looks like a ranch brand, a little.

One of the major reasons I haven't put my name on is because I don't own a laser ( don't have the funds) and my name is pretty long and small and I have no way of putting it on at the moment.
when I can afford the laser I want, I really like the idea and the look of the logo on the blade and the name on the back of the spine
