*Goes over list 2X for accuracy.

Kershaw!

Not to mention all the custom knifemakers we have In this great country.

And don't hold me to It, but I think some CRKT's and Cold Steal's are USA.

Has to have ALL of there knives and parts made in US, and assembled in US.

Thanks guys,

Holy crap there are some very talented makers hiding out there. This is definitely turning out to be a learning experience for me.

And my wallet is going to explode later I think.:D

Ah... hmm.

ZT Is all US.

Come to think of It, there are not that many US companies anymore. (My mind Is wandering to more things than knives)

And don't hold me to It, but I think some CRKT's and Cold Steal's are USA.

Ah...hmmm:p I was referring to the "some" reference. As I said, ALL models, parts, and assembly has to be in USA, not just some models.

i dont think bradley cutlery would work, they dont make their knives they just design them and have them made by other companies. the alias and mayhem are made by benchmade, and the kimuras are made by kershaw. and since both benchmade and kershaw make stuff overseas wouldnt that disqualify bradley cutlery?

Ok thanks Matt

I just briefly checked and saw all models made in the USA, I'll take them down and look into it.

The recent "Buy American" thread got me thinking about the amount of knife companies currently manufacturing solely within the USA. The large knifemaking corporations often claim that they have to outsource labor in order to remain competitive in the market. I don't entirely agree with that statement.

Please help me compile a list of current manufacturers and knifemakers that produce knives soley within the USA. American knife manufacturers who export materials and contract labor outside of the US are excluded from this list. This list serves as a reference for everyone interested in supporting these knifemakers, and to show that companies can remain domestic and still survive in a global economy. All BFC knifemakers who meet the above criteria please include yourselves as well.

I will try to research and update the list when I can. Please try to avoid derailing the thread with political discussion and keep the thread on track.

arranged in alphabetical order for MORIMOTOM :D :p

(yay for websites that do this for you!)

Last time I got ahold of Bradley about 3 weeks ago they stated they where looking for a manufactur to produce all their stuff so dunno. Dirrect email to them was related to alias production and they said it was limited currently until they got production handled.

As much as I admire and respect ZT knives, they are still owned by Kai.

Kai does not fit the criteria.

I also want to make it perfectly clear that in no way do I mean any disrespect to those who aren't on the list. Kershaw, ZT, Benchmade, Spyderco, etc all deserve much respect.

This list merely serves as a reference for me and others to show US businesses producing 100% domestic products. :)

Krein, Treeman (Behring), Burnley, Caldwell, Leatherman Inc., Winston, Murray Carter, Scott Cook, WC Davis, Denning, Gatlin, Crotts, etc...

A good source for individual makers are the membership lists online for different (regional) knife making associations across the US.

Your list, if you include these individual custom makers, will get very long very quick.
:)
