Meako - as much as love Greg at TSA I do not believe they are a supporting BF dealer. Please reread the rules brother. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

:eek::confused::D ...girly theme...:D

Thanks for the huggies though :D

Whoops...found out my posts don't meet the threshold in this forum. Sorry, but congratulations anyhow!

Not an entry, because I am only halfway there for post in this sub-forum. But that's okay, I'll get there someday :)

If I were in, my choice would absolutely be the Willamette Whittler from Northwoods http://www.knivesshipfree.com/northwoods-knives-willamette-whittler-cocobolo-04/

In the meantime, this was a great idea for a GAW. And more importantly, congrats on the soon to arrive baby girl!

Congratulations! What a way to usher in a new child. I've been away a while myself--lots of good family things and travel for the past few months.

I've been toying with the idea of a pocketable, fixed-blade knife. Not a really-too-big-to-pocket-carry knife, but a very diminutive fixed blade that could be carried comfortably in a front pocket. At a scant 5" OAL and a blade shape that looks perfect, I present the Arno Bernard Bush Baby Dassie in giraffe bone:

I can't post a picture with this "smart" phone, but my choice is an Opinel No. 7 or No. 8 with olive wood handle.
Use what's left over for the "BABY CAN READ" series DVD's.
Trust me, they work. At age three, my nephew/God Son could read the fliers on the airport counters, understand what he was reading, and correctly spell words like CARDIOVASCULAR and tell you what it is.
A Scrabble game is also good to help with spelling lessons.

Thanks Afishhunter - I have never even held an Opinel

My wife and I are both teachers. I've heard good things on the dvd set.

You guys and gals are posting some awesome knives!

Thank you all for the congratulatory post! :)

instead.

Brett, I noticed about a month ago you started back up on the forum. Needless to say I was glad to see you back here amongst friends where you belong! Your kindness and generosity is an example to all of us on the porch. And best wishes for a smooth delivery in the coming days/weeks! You're going to be outnumbered by the women, eh?:D

This copper barlow from Ka-bar has had me drooling for some time. I can only imagine the patina this baby would take on in our pockets Brett! Thanks for the shot at this GAW.:)

Nice, interesting GA, Brett!!
Not an entry, but watching closely!!
I like the fact that people are putting in pictures of their wished-for knives!

abcdef; those Burnsides haven't been available for quite some time now. You might want to pick another entry that is in stock. Just trying to help out Bud.
I'm enjoying watching this one to see where it goes. Very fun and interesting GAW.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate the help.

Thanks guys for all the thought in picking one out for me, but let's really make this about what you want. I would be happy with anything posted thus far. If you want to try a friction folder, fixed blade, etc ., go for it, as long as it is a traditional.

Remember if you change your mind you can edit your post. Even if you decide to enter and had posted no entry. :D;)

For those new to the GAW - Please read the rules and I have a link for BF dealers at the bottom of the OP. These guys are awesome! Mike - knifeswapper, - Collectorknives, Barry - Gunstockjack - Gunstockjacksknives, & Derrick - Okbohn - knivesshipfree, all come to mind and are great to the porch, but feel free to search them all for what you want.

I've been eyeing the dixie stockman in either ebony or stag.

Collectorknives.net has them.

Nearly sunken joints. Low profile blades, so they are not in the way when using.

Pointy warncliff, sleek "turkish" clip muskrat style main, and a great looking swedged spey.

Rounded bolsters!

What's not to like!

Not an entry, just to say congrats Bret!...and way to go for contributing to the porch in this imaginative GAW.

Brian
