Help......Need gun ideas

What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Glock didn't have a ground breaking new design?!?!?!?!?! But that's not what the interwebz says!!!!!

As for the VP, I've yet to handle one but I've hard good things. But one thing that bothers me, is it's like the Sig 320, no safety, not even a hinge trigger (and you know, HK warning under the trigger guard)
The VP9 has a trigger latch safety, and firing pin block.

There is no "accidentally" pulling the trigger on the VP :)
I think the trigger pull is just under 400 lbs. how do you think my hands got so big :)

Micarcle of google search, yup, you're right. I've read a couple reports and they haven't mentioned a hinge trigger, just thought they were like a 320 and didn't have any sort of external safety

I thought it was from all those big ole rings. Just moving a finger has to be a workout.

Handled a VP 9 today, for a plastic striker fired gun with a warning label......I kind of like it.

Might pick one up next year

If you liked it enough to consider getting one then I am even more interested now.

I can make a USP trigger short and sweet... I just don't know about the VP9... I don't know if I can grow to love a striker fired pistol. Garth, you need to just bite the bullet, buy one, and tell me what you think!

Agreed, striker fired are just......odd. The VP has the same grip style as the P30 and you can change the panels like a P30 ( and at least the Germans know how to make comfortable finger ridges, not like the damn Austrians). I've always found the P30 to be comfortable, and with the VP designed around the same frame, it was smart on HK's part.

The tabs at the back of the slide to help racking it were a nice touch too, made out of polymer, but a nice touch.

I don't know if I like or dislike the striker design knough. When the striker is cocked, you can see the back of it and it's painted red. When the gun is fired, you can't see the striker. It's a visual indicator thing, but having an "exposed" striker design like that, I'm just thinking about it letting stuff in the striker assembly (I'm not going to be playing with the mud or sand with it though).

I think the caming firing pin block is a very cool design, don't know about durability, but mecanically speaking, I think it's cool.

Price isn't terrible either, and definitely cheaper that building another AR. Have a couple guns on order as is, hope to be picking up a can or two in the next 12 months, but the VP could possible be something I'll pick up to mess around with

The VP's are going for about $650 on GB right now. The firing pin block I bullet proof as far as Hk's go. I've tested them, as have many others, and if the VP's block is anything like the USP's, or the rest of their hammer line, it's perfectly capable handling anything thrown at it. This pistol has been in development for a couple years now and was well tested.

After seeing Spyderwire's Saiga in a Kushnapup stock, I kind of like the idea of a semi auto 12ga bullpup

I love bullpups. The Kushnapup set up is decent. Having a shotgun that you can one hand if for whatever reason that you wanted to is nice. Basically, it was super easy to control, and I liked that a lot especially compared to a normal shotgun. I had to make a sight mount that fit in the dovetail of the stock sight so I could mount an Aimpoint.

Think I decided I'll be picking up a Sig P210 Legend around December

It will be a revelation ... a true "bucket list" moment

The extension on the safety is the only thing they missed IMO when re-designing the P210 with the Legend ... they should have done that for sure because the safety is recessed by the grips and is stiff ... but Novak's or any good custom shop can tweak it. The sights are straight forward for daylight use and range use ... if you want to carry the pistol ( when it is dark ) Novak can square you away on those too.

The pistol is one of the few that have that "fit" ... the grip size and weight are just "right" ... the pistol feels very solid ... very accurate ...very reliable ... and when tweaked right is my choice in 9mm for a personal weapon

I just wish they made the Legend in 10mm! Perfect for Africa ...

I've seen Novaks tweak on the mag release, if it bothers me and I can do it myself I might send it to them.

I'm excited, I've seen the pics of your 210-5 (I think that's what you posted once it was) and they have style and I like the history. I plan on running that thing pretty damn dirty to see how it reacts.

I like the wood grips, but at the same time I'm paranoid about them. Been trying to convince Hogue to make me a set of G-10 for it :)

I am very interested on your results after running it dirty. PLEASE keep us posted!..... This pistol is on my short list.

M67 what's your opinion on the S&W 1911sc E series. The bobtail model suits my mitts perfectly. I've read too many bad comments on them, at that price range (1500$ Canadian.....that's 700$ U.S. lol) I want to make sure that I make the right choice.

It is a pain when one needs to return a handgun to a gunsmith or a gun company in Canada.

Oh I will. I have a several months wait which is good cause the spending lately so it'll give me time to save.

I run my guns dirty and hard, they're tools, and supposedly durable. If a gun doesn't work unless it's spotless, it's useless to me. So testing a 210, one of the best and underrated pistols of all time, I'll get a lot of joy giving it hell :)

S&W 1911s are okay, I've only had to work on one. The barrel link pin wasn't staked well so kept falling out and the customer kept almost loosing his link. So I just staked it for him.

Have a gunsmith friend who saw a number of then where the roll pin for the extractor drifted down and locked the slide and frame but since Smith has started to use a tapered roll pin and hasn't seen any more of them.

Fit and finish is nice, I just don't care for the warning label, the external extractor I still have mixed feelings about
