Deal popped up that was too good to pass up. This year has been expensive for boom sticks I don't need
The gist of this is that Marlin has addressed their QC problems. That is what I have been hearing from my Local Gun Shop too. I do not like the Henry at all and am looking forward to hunting the first year rifles are allowed (since there have been game laws anyway) with my American Classic....Marlin 1895 .45-70.
Marlin has addressed a lot of the QC issues, a lot has to do with new employees getting the hang of things. I've been pulling 1894 44 mags out of boxes that actually have a decent to nice looking stock on them and the recoil pads are fitted decently (not like anything Remington has been making the past 5 years).
Marlins biggest issue, is that they're owned by Freedom Group. And FG can screw up anything from a cold glass of water to a wet dream. They know how to fubar things and fubar them well
