They look very nice indeed. However the lose of a finger could make my day to day a bit difficult. I would have to learn to open tequila bottles with a digit less.

Just let them take your pinky...lol... And you got money I don't . I'll be honest I only get 480 every 2 weeks which is bs no where close to what I used to make 480 wasn't even a days work for me...huge lifestyle change.

Lol i haven't bought anything either since I became a huge fan of busse knives. One day I'll buy a gun again. Until then I will fulfill my knife needs!

Such a delicate rifle. Can only use certain loads because you might bend the op rod. When you buy surplus loads you have to check the headstamp and make sure it wasn't made with waivered powder. Out of battery fires. 8 rounds. Heavy. Recommended cleaning every 750-1000 rounds but people usually baby them and completely strip them after a couple clips....

That being said

They're classic. But I like my hi cap detachable mags :)

^^^ Why perpetuate the falsehoods? Adjustable gas plugs=any ammunition. Delicate (unless you were being facetious)? Hardly. I've never even seen an out of battery round go off. Heavy, well, you bet. Eight rounds is plenty. And if you're thinking about a civilian firefight and need a thirty-round mag then, well, uh, I guess I'm in the wrong conversation 'cuz I don't go in for that stuff. Fact is, if the OP wants to buy a gun that's fun, accurate, and something that actually inspires pride and affection in a man-made object, it's hard to top the M1. M1 owners all know this!

Yours looks nice. And the pistols are primo, too!

But without the adjustable plug or self adjusting, there is the risk of the op rod bending. Delicate, they really aren't but like M1As people do tend to baby them.

I do most of my shooting when standing, hardly ever off a bench. I like multiple targets and quick shots, so not really prime for a Garand. But ARs are great for that, plus IMO they feel better. When you shoulder a Garand you do get the smell of linseed oil that you don't get with an AR, but it's a small sacrafice..

I picked up my Garand because it reminded me of a customer of mine who passed last year. WWII veteran, liberated a couple concentration camps and fought under Patton (never really had anything good to say about him). He was one of the nicest people you'd ever meet so it was a coinsidence when this one came into the store shortly after he passed. Receiver is from 42, a Springfield, the trigger group is an older style Springfield, but most of the other parts are from Korea. Just a CMP parts gun. But matched nicely with the 42 Colt and the 43 Nazi P-35

I rarely shoot my garand but I had to have one. One of the only picks I have of my Grandfather is of him standing on a beach on some south pacific island holding a garand. Just something about the rifle that was carried by the greatest generation. I was very young when he passed away but even as a kid I can remember that my Pap was a special kind of man. He sure was a tough SOB and didnt take crap from anybody.
Every time I squeeze off a round out of a garand I cant help but think of him. I know he is watching and I sure hope I am doing it all right in his eyes.

Yup. The first polymer pistol, long before Gaston Glock introduced his.
Don't forget that it was also a striker fired pistol, way before the Glock....

Which brings me up to my next comment Garth. You should pick up the new Hk VP9, Hk's new striker pistol. Then you can let me know how it is!

What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Glock didn't have a ground breaking new design?!?!?!?!?! But that's not what the interwebz says!!!!!

As for the VP, I've yet to handle one but I've hard good things. But one thing that bothers me, is it's like the Sig 320, no safety, not even a hinge trigger (and you know, HK warning under the trigger guard)
