If it is that important to you, you are just going to have to contact the seller and see if you can find any common ground to make the deal work, but you will most likely have to lean to his desires vs expecting he will concede to yours. Again-he can sell to whomever he chooses and under almost any terms . If he will only sell to one legged gay pirates who have a 3rd sister named Jane, that is the criteria that has to be met. His terms don't have to be even reasonable(not that his are or aren't). If you can't find common ground you will just have to give it up, it's not going to happen.

Shipping to and from an FFL dealer was not discussed during our correspondence back at the end of March, nor was it discussed this past weekend.

Unless you mean From FLorida and that has already been covered quite clearly.

He's been at this for a month? My goodness. Would you say the buyer has turned you off from selling to him? How do you feel about him trying to get another member in FL to buy the knife and send it to him?
 
I'd get a written consent form if you sell it from whoever buys it saying he's NOT a middle man for chipper.
 
How many times can you say no to someone before it sinks in? Who knows...
