Bummer about the plastic border on the ironwood, glad you didn't opt to do that as it would almost be a waste of good ironwood. May need to have a custom maker put wood on an earlier model I have that takes down.

Stoked about this project. How soon can you take my money?!?!?! :)

So here are my suggestion on construction. I have a Vantage Force Pro now. I love this knife but it is to heavy. Put lightning cut in the liners and use post construction instead of that spacer that runs along the spine. This will mean that you have to rethink the pocket clip but it will be well worth it. If you could shave an ounce off of that knife and build it in the steels that you are talking about it would be an exceptional knife.

This is the type of stuff I'm always trying to push Buck to do, but as of yet, I haven't budged them an inch. Well maybe an inch on our Marksman scales.

Well, money is fantastic! But realistically we have a few months and a couple more phases to go through. Once the color is finalized, I'm hoping for an 8 week turnaround.

Make the two scales each a different color.
Fully serrated blade, yeah I would buy a couple of them!
Not a big fan of the sandwich knives but what ever you make, I am in for one.

i dont like mismatched scales. too clownish. prefer simplicity. less is more routine

The Vantage Pro 347 is the lighter version ;) no full length spacer and sill has the clip

Dunno if the color is really accurate. But based on these renderings, I prefer the natural micarta.

And again, I'll join in the call for lightening the knife, if at all possible. What about simply drilling the liners?
