Can anyone ID this knife?

The image is a bit grainy but the handle looks like the grooved leather you see in the classic WW2 era combat knives.

ok, I think I got it. Schrade Extreme Survival. Look at those three lines between the first two screws. The lanyard hole is in the right place too. What do you guys think?

Nope, definitely not a Schrade. Not even close; the handle is obviously round. Like the other poster said, it resembles a WW2/Vietnam era knife. Could be a Kabar, or one of the Ontario models with a round handle. It has a fat , circular pommel, that would probably help in identifying it.

You think so? At least to me the lanyard hole on the botton (right side) is very visible. The sheath also seems to match (same velcro style pocket).

That sheath style is used by so many companies that it is no indication. Now that you mention it, I am seeing a lanyard hole...maybe. The problem is that the knife doesn't stand out enough. Guess we just have to wait to see it in use. If it does have a lanyard hole, then to my eyes it must be protruding metal because it doesn't seem to be the same color as the handle scales. Maybe a TOPS?

I hoped it was the knife that the Schrade copied....the Chris Reeve Pacific. Originally he carried a Gerber Mark II . Shouldn't the new Max upgrade?

i think the handle looks wrapped more than it looks like leather. however it is awefully grainy and i could see where you gentleman are right about the leather handle. as for identification, absolutely no idea

Oh, I think we have a winner. The think that didnt fit for me was the sheath. Looks ok with that specops type of velcro pouch, but the Schrade does not have the metal snap, and in the picture you clearly see a round snap button. I'm going for the CR Pacific. ;) Also, look at the three lines on the handle slab between the screws. I see it there and its the same as in the Schrade, but you dont see the finger groves yet I do see that big jimping on the full tang. I'm 90% sure its the Pacific.

Max is a scavenger it makes no sense he'd have some current Tac ops type knife

ferFAL is right i have a chris reeves pacific and i can spot that knife from a mile away. the pic your looking at sux but if you watch the trailer and pause towards the end when the chick ask what his name is you can see it clear as day no other knife looks like that but the cheap schrade nock off but that knife has the 3 distinctive lines in the micarta along with the spec ops sheath it comes with.

Anyone else disappointed that it's not just a sharpened piece of a truck leaf sprint wrapped in barbed wire?

It's definitely the Pacific. I saw the commercial and had to pause it. Definitely a pacific tho. I even made an instagram post about it (@theknifeconnoisseur btw).

Mad max is a dystopian adventure set in the distant future after an apocalyptic event. As such that knife would not be a current piece but an antique. It actually makes perfect sense that a well made knife would survive and be reclaimed. Think about it. If disease or famine wiped out 90% of the population that doesnt mean all our possessions disappear with us. I think its perfectly reasonable to think that such items will be found and in plentiful supply seeing you would have more knives than people to use them.
