Help with my next pistol?

I'm currently selling a BAR in 300wm if you really want to have some fun.... J/k haha. I have two guys offering deals on it already so it will be gone by Tuesday I'm hoping.

I bought couple thousand rounds of Tula 9 mm. Some must be undercharged. Got a good price. Had a couple failure to eject. But it was with two new 17 round G conversion magazines? Seemed like the slide didn't go all the way back and the jacket would catch. It got stuck pretty good too.

Usually use ball ammo blazer brass 115-124 g never have a problem.

I can practice clearing the gun, that's important.

Just watched this video of Sig 320x compact. Comparable to the G -19.

I was watching reviews on the FNH FN Five- seveN 5.7x28mm Semi Auto Pistol.

Looks like a really nice gun.

I'd avoid sig sauers polymer pistols. Thick, clunky and HORRIBLE triggers imo. Big fan of their all steel pistols tho.

If are looking at FNH's you shouldn't hesitate trying one. The FNS in one of my favorite pistols. Fantastic trigger imo, really well deigned and just a pleasure to shoot. They are at really enticing prices online atm.

Quite honestly dont think you can beat a g26/27 for a carry. Best size/weight/capacity can think of. Maybe just customize the hell out of it if getting bored with it? I love glocks in first place but what makes them even better it the TONS of aftermarket options for them.

I have both the 365 and glock 43. They are both great shooters and the are both just about the same size. I pocket carry both with the flush mags. If I had to choose just one I would go with the 365. It comes with factory night sights plus you get 10 plus one in a tiny pkg.
If you really want to reduce recoil I would look into a glock 42. They are VERY soft shooting and accurate.

I've shot a G 42, but it was when I first began shooting. My grip technique was horrible then, lol.

I've heard the .380 xtp ammo will get you good penetration, better than most the other ammo?

I have to find my case for the CZ. It's somewhere around here, if I can't find it, I'll lose $75 or $100.

Thanks for all the replies.

The XTP is about as good as it gets for 380 stuff.
I like gold dots and HST for anything in the 9mm, 40, or 45 rem though.

Take a look at Buffalo bore .380 +p ammo. Real good penetration and power. Haven't been looking around for .380 ammo for awhile but think BB is one of few companies that other .380 in +p.

And what I said about sig polymer trigger being incredibly mushy that was the da/så ones. Actually never had my hands on the striker fires ones yet.

I appreciate your honest opinion, that's the best way I can make a "informed" decision. I'm not a fan of double action single action. It's not a deal breaker, but I tend to gravitate to striker fired.

I want to hear the good the bad and the ugly. The double action first shot is what throws me off a bit when training at the range. Practice practice practice.

I'm a G43 fan and have been carrying one daily for sometime now in all kinds of conditions. Must be said, I'm not even a Glock guy, its my only one, even though I have fired many, many, Glocks. At first I loved carrying it but didn't like shooting it and didn't shoot it well. Finally, I quit trying to shoot it like a semi and started shooting it like a double action revolver and that made all the difference to me. I enjoy shooting it now and shoot it very well. It just packs well and you forget your wearing it, wherever you are carrying it.

My wife, an excellent shot, (the SWAT team deputies that put on her CCW classes call her Wyatt Earp), has a Shield.

She really loves the gun and loves how it carries (and its ranchability, stuff can get really dirty and gunky carried on a ranch) but honestly doesn't shoot it well. That first (and most important) shot, always wanders. She's changed sights and installed a laser, taken the laser back off but nothing really helps, first shot wanders and not consistently in its wandering, all over the place. She's gone to carrying either a Colt Mustang .380

Or a Springfield EMP in 9mm.

The Colt might be something of interest to you. Very portable, some might even say tiny but yet still easy to shoot. Very accurate and easy on the hand. We've taught numerous folks that have never even fired a handgun before to shoot with it. Couple things stand out: 1) Not long before they are shooting it pretty darn well. 2) Not one has ever mentioned the recoil, even in this small a package. 3) They all love shooting it, the fun factor. Little different tangent but maybe something to consider.

Thanks horsewright, I did see the colt mustang and always wondered how it shoots. Looks like the sig 938 size, but I've never practice shooting with any gun with a safety. I'm not sure if I want to go there.

Your leather work always amazed me, that's some great work. Always Love your photos.

Haven't bought any guns in 7 years but sold a rifle and started looking at new compact 9's before i even get the check :D
My list:
Ruger LC9s pro - didn't get to handle this one, but the new trigger and pro version with removed safety has a lot of good reviews
Glock 43 - Very nice trigger, short takeup but a little larger
Kahr P9 / PM/CM9 - Owned the P9 and sold it, liked it, its a longer trigger pull and great size
MP Shield - Nice trigger, seemed like the largest of the bunch but all the guns felt good in hand.
Sig 938 - mini 1911, father owns one and everyone else i've talked to who does loves it.

I wasn’t going to bring it up since it was so far removed from the original suggestion list but now that it’s been mentioned twice, the wife and I both love our Sig 938’s.

I love my Sig P220s but have never fired a Sig P320 or P365 so I can't speak to that ...

I can say if you can find a Beretta Cheetah 85FS ... I love mine it's a single stack 8 round and it fits my hand great for a full grip but is still very concealable ... and as its steel not polymer it really is pleasant to shoot ...

the build with a beavertail allows for a high grip and no worry of the slide biting you ...

and with today's ammo improvements I trust a .380 as much as a 9mm ... I shoot Speer Gold Dots and they are incrediably accurate in the ranges you would use in a self defense situation ...

if you prefer more rounds there is a Cheetah version same gun with a double stack 13 round mag (I believe) ...

not as inexpensive as a Glock or other polymer guns but IMHO worth it ...

the Browning BDA is basically the same gun ...

the only other small semi auto I carry is a S&W Shield for the hot summer weather when I need a light gun and I've been happy with it ...

but I have to admit I am just not a big Glock fan ... I know they are reliable and how many swear by them so I can't put them down ... they just aren't for me ... but if you like Glocks the 43 would be a good choice also ...

as Horsewright Horsewright mentioned the Colt Mustang was a great little .380 ... I used to own one ... but I haven't shot their new production Mustangs at all.

I own a Glock 43 and a Sig P365, and I would recommend either without hesitation. I pocket carry both, usually in jeans or casual slacks, but I prefer the Glock.

Ok, this is where I'm at. Lol

Glock 43-42-19
Sheild M&P 2.0
Sig Saurer 365 -320
Walther ppq-pps

I'm going to the range tomorrow, if they are open. If not tomorrow I'm off Friday. The joy of working for myself. Lol I just have to start trying their rental guns. They usually have about 10 to 15 rentals. I never really looked to much at them. Seen shield, some glocks, 19 a 43 and I thought I even seen a Sig in there.

This is where I shoot in Raleigh. Not big at all, has about six lanes only go out to about 20 yards.

But I can reserve my spot on range 2, by myself. Tons of fun.

You can't use rifles or anything powerful. This stinks because I have a bushmaster ar-15 I'm itching to shoot.

I do have another membership to another place, but they have weird hours, I think it because a lot of LEOs train there. But I can use rifles, I think it's about 50 yards indoor. Huge facility. With. About 40 lanes.

Thanks for all the responses, please feel free to discuss anything related to firearms in this thread, as long as the mods are o.k. With it. I'll keep you all updated on my search for my new pistol.
Thanks

I didn't know what the P365 was till today and it looks like i need to look at another when i go back too.
