You know, after much thought, its really got to be one or the other. Family friendly, or adult oriented. It cant be both.
Slut is very derogatory, my wife isn't amused and I'd guess that some of our female audience isnt either. I wont speak for them though, just a guess.
It does offer up the thought of going more grown up though, but I REALLY need to know where we are going. Those with children will understand, those without wont. It matters not.
I've been asked not to use the name of our most popular sheath (b.a.d.a.s.s.) personally I think its less offensive than slut, but thats just me.
One way or the other, theres really not an in between, or a right for one side and out of bounds for the other.
I see where you're coming from, but on the opposite side of the spectrum, busse combat makes killing weapons with "skull crusher" pommels and metal "knuckle guards" meant to smash faces. The term slut on the other hand, is a descriptive term, not necessarily a negative one if that's the path the woman chooses.

I don't know why it would be offensive to anyone, especially someone who isn't one. It isn't a negative term against woman as a whole.
That said, this forum goes back and forth with what is allowed and what isn't. I got told off by someone here pretty badly, sworn at over and over and had the person basically lose their mind. I responded with smiley faces, not the jerkit smiley, but regular smiley faces and I got told by a mod that maybe I put a few too many smileys and it might be offensive.

You can't be sesame street and sell implements of death, and as much as you want to share your hobby with your kids, you have to understand, not everything may be kid friendly to everyones kids.
