Yeah. Unlike most, I don't see guys sharing these SLUTS. ROTFL!

(This has GOT to be violating the Busse forum TOS at some point. LOL)

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... So much for "family friendly" forum. ...Does this mean we get to go back to posting suggestive images?

These are big boy toys but I don't think it's too lewd and crude. Skunk's "Just the Tip" is even more suggestive of lascivious acts than Jerry's SLUTS! IMO.

Now I've got to watch when I read in here again ......

with that giant print on the first page the daughter (11) asked what a slut was. She was across the room, eagle eyed little snot!

:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

I admit, I had become pretty comfortable letting her look over my shoulder at the "pretty" knives. No more.

She's gonna be pissed. :o

Not trying to sound lame but let's all keep in mind that there are ladies that are members and come on this forum...

Wait, why is everyone whining? For a combat knife forum people sure are sensitive.

You know, after much thought, its really got to be one or the other. Family friendly, or adult oriented. It cant be both.

Slut is very derogatory, my wife isn't amused and I'd guess that some of our female audience isnt either. I wont speak for them though, just a guess.

It does offer up the thought of going more grown up though, but I REALLY need to know where we are going. Those with children will understand, those without wont. It matters not.

I've been asked not to use the name of our most popular sheath (b.a.d.a.s.s.) personally I think its less offensive than slut, but thats just me.

One way or the other, theres really not an in between, or a right for one side and out of bounds for the other.

I see where you're coming from, but on the opposite side of the spectrum, busse combat makes killing weapons with "skull crusher" pommels and metal "knuckle guards" meant to smash faces. The term slut on the other hand, is a descriptive term, not necessarily a negative one if that's the path the woman chooses.

Definition of SLUT
1
chiefly British : a slovenly woman
2
a : a promiscuous woman; especially : prostitute b : a saucy girl : minx
— slut·tish\ˈslə-tish\ adjective
— slut·tish·ly adverb
— slut·tish·ness noun
— slut·ty\ˈslə-tē\ adjective
Examples of SLUT

1. <had a reputation around town for being something of a slut>

Origin of SLUT
Middle English slutte
First Known Use: 15th century

I don't know why it would be offensive to anyone, especially someone who isn't one. It isn't a negative term against woman as a whole.

That said, this forum goes back and forth with what is allowed and what isn't. I got told off by someone here pretty badly, sworn at over and over and had the person basically lose their mind. I responded with smiley faces, not the jerkit smiley, but regular smiley faces and I got told by a mod that maybe I put a few too many smileys and it might be offensive.

BUSSE COMBAT MAKES FREAKING KILLING WEAPONS WITH SKULL CRUSHERS AND METAL KNUCKLE GUARDS!!!!!

You can't be sesame street and sell implements of death, and as much as you want to share your hobby with your kids, you have to understand, not everything may be kid friendly to everyones kids.

Also, if I were a parent I would be more concerned with the rampant and quite vocal talk about alcohol abuse in a positive manner seen here DAILY instead of worrying if my kid knew what the word slut is. Then again, my moral compass is slightly tilted more towards the logical than the church.

If you read what I have said in the past, yes, I've mentioned the alcohol thing, and got slapped. I wont do that again,

Church? That IS funny! Please PM me, you might get a surprise. :D

When I said my moral compass isn't pointed towards the church I wasn't insinuating that yours was, I was using it as an example of some who would be offended by the use of certain words.

Dan, your so righteous

I dont see a problem, esp if the man himself who employees women doesnt. If you have a hard time seeing the word slut, esp when not used in a negative manner, then I recommend doing away with the internet and all other human contact.

NOW BRING ON A SLUT!!!!

+1 gozillion

Don't even get me started, I find the entire notion of a family-friendly knife forum utterly absurd (in theory and practice) - in addition to which there are countless examples of people toeing that line from the company itself to our various members, and its enforcement is anything but consistent and has always been the case.

Poor Jaxx (and I mean that sincerely) is caught in the middle.

I'd like to see this charade change, yesterday.

It's not so much the term but sometimes people on this forum can take anything and get carried away with it. I know three female Busse staff that comes on here and I have a good friend Robin that comes on here. I don't want it to where they are offended and don't come on here anymore. We are supposed to be HOGS not PIGS...

What is offensive about the word slut? It's a descriptive term of someone who willingly has a large amount of sexual partners. Why would anyone ever be offended by it? It's a grouping of letters put together to make a word used to describe something. I really don't understand.

Bingo! Exactly what I was getting at (well, trying not to get slapped in the meantime) Its either one or the other. Double standards aren't good.

I'm open to whatever it comes to, adult or family, I just want to know which. I am a moderator at a VERY open forum, language is for lack of a better word harsh. But its that way, period. No in between.
