As I have learned the hard way, what it intended and how its taken are two completely different things sometimes. I realize the spirit of what is intended, but the word itself can be taken as really offensive. In this industry, and in this community, things can be taken and ran along with gusto. Especially when it has a barn door like opening for ridicule and lampoon. Sometimes it seems like some people are just looking for reasons to start a campaign.

Evidently this was locked? I'm glad it was unlocked, this really needs to be discussed and not pushed off. We as a community tend to police ourselves, and as such I've seen people corrected for innuendo and offensive language not too far off from what slut brings to mind. To me, slut is not a family friendly subject.

For God's sake...TURN IN YOUR MAN CARD! If your kids want to know what the word means then they can "google" it when you arent looking...This is ridiculous. Its a FUNNY JOKE. Man up! This forum is a majority bunch of dudes...yes there are a couple of females but hopefully they can roll with the jest. You guys are just too much! ITS A JOKE. This is and has been run like a work office enviorment, what I mean by that is take my work for instance, I work in an office, I will drop a dick joke without missing a beat, I have a foul mouth at the office and throw F bombs around and the boss usually laughs until someone hears me that is less then thrilled and I am told to be careful. I believe there is nothing wrong with this thread, compared to some of my posts on other forums this is really tame, it is a funny play on words that I am sure does not offend any of the Busse woman, hell they work in a knife shop with a bunch of guys I am sure they can handle that. My kids hear a lot worse at school then they would ever experience reading this forum, I think there is a lot of over reacting going on this is really tame.

Agreed...its not like people are posting F bombs and x rated movie clips. If your kid hasnt heard the word S-L-U-T at school you might want to get their hearing checked....Its not personal....if you said for instance Cappy2Cap is a big dirty S-L-U-T, then i may be offended...but no one is calling a Busse lady a S-L-U-T. So there should be really no offense taken. Besides most gilrs that are, are proud to wear that badge;)

Problem is, and just like it is pretty much everywhere else, some folks just have to push it and push it and push it... If the word "slut" is so common, so mundane...then why did almost everyone on this forum have to find a (not so) clever way to use it? Where's the line? How long until someone crosses it and then whines when that person get his hand smacked saying that everyone else did it too, and that it's unfair!!! :confused:

Everyone who's met me knows that I have a foul mouth...Hell, 10 minute after I walk into a bar, sailors come running out. But that's there and this is here. In here, it is "Family-friendly" until I'm told differently. If ya wanna get nasty, step on over to the W&C forum and have at it.

I am really surprised at how much controversy this thread has caused!:eek: Having met Dwayne's daughter, I would guess that many folks would be surprised at what a sweet kid she is and how a home-schooled child can be that good. Dwayne and Stacy can be rightfully proud of her!:thumbup::thumbup:
I think that I would just explain that a SLUT is a new model knife from Busse and let it go at that. Any more questions about a slut - just explain that it is a female that doesn't behave very well. End of story.

Tom, the daughter is off the computer on the forums now, she's not happy as she owns three Busse's and feels that she deserves her Busse time. No great loss, she's my kid and my rules. Its Jerry's forum and Jerry's rules. If adult themes are ok then its his business. I dont really care, but I do want to know where the line is, and its not clear so lets toe it and see where we end up. Where's Zardoz???? Cobalt? You out there?? :D
