Thanks for posting the link Bob, Stark contrasts between the two knives 2OT & 3OT we have seen posted here lately and the used and not stored properly knife above. Maybe someone could somewhat bring it back to life.

It would make a nice user, if the price stays below ten dollars. Would need to re-grind the main blade though; it's been sharpened to a concave shape. And although the carbon has a heavy patina, there doesn't appear to be any rust, so a light buffing would bring those blades back to shiny-new.

I generally preach against altering or buffing collectible knives, but since this one is already used I don't see the harm, especially if someone was cleaning it for their own personal use.

Best Wishes,
-Bob

The Collectors website doesn't have a good shot of the tang stamp, so I can't tell.

Page 4 of my Corner gives a reasonably clear Tang Stamp of the 2OT and that knife looks like the Real McCoy.I will take some better ones if you want. Hoo Roo

Sorry about the confusion fellas, what I meant to say was the reverse side of the blade where it shows the model number, looks like there are more characters than just the 2OT. It was late Sunday night just had slight communication problem.

Good luck on that Michael. I have a feeling it will be a tough one to harness.

Ouch! The gang's all there! I bid over Dale, Eric, and Jerry! Sorry guys!

Michael

I don't know who "goodolejoe" is, but he and I share an opinion of what that knife is worth. :)

BTW, I checked the names before I posted the link to make sure my topic wasn't bringing unwanted attention to an auction someone had already bid on.

I got first dibs! :D :D :D Man, what does it take to make an incognito bid around here? :D

Eric

You guys are killing me here! Don't make me set a polar bear trap, or worse yet, the mother of them all, the dreaded woolly bear!!!

Eric

Anyone who cares to outbid me can have it! :D I'll wind up buying Aussie Larry's pair! :p

Michael

No thanks Codger. But if you 'win' the auction, I'll give you five bucks for it. :D
